TRACK AND FIELD - The Sheridan high school track teams hosted the "Gary Benson" Memorial Border War track meet yesterday. The Broncs Micheal Rotellini won two events with winning times in the 800 and 1600 meters.
Saturday Sheridan high school hosts the annual "Dan Hansen" track invitational events will get underway at 10:00.
SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams have more conference action this week. The Broncs play in Laramie and Cheyenne South while the Lady Broncs host the Plainsmen and Bison.
WYOMING COWBOY JOE - The Wyoming Cowboy Joe club will host their spring membership fund drive reception on Monday at the Sheridan Holiday Inn.
Randy Welniak is a Senior Associate Athletics Director at the University and says Cowboy Joe outreach is important not only for the school but for all Wyoming fans across the state as they look forward to the event in Sheridan Monday.
And he says the University Athletic Department as a whole is coming off a pretty good year for all sports combined.
Guest speakers will be Athletic Director Tom Burman, Director of golf Joe Jensen, Wrestling coach Mark Branch, Basketball coach Larry Shyatt and Football coach Dave Christensen.
The event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 again Monday night at the Sheridan Holiday Inn.
TROOPERS PLAYER SIGNS - Sheridan high school Senior Drew Adriaens has signed a National letter of intent to play baseball at Montana State Billings in the fall.
Adriaens pitches and plays the outfield for the Sheridan Troopers and talks about his decision to go to MSU-B.
Adriaens will play his final season with the Sheridan Troopers they are a few weeks away from beginning the season and he says practices have been going good the last three weeks.
Following the Trooper season in August it will be onto college where they have a fall season and Drew says that being able to continue playing into the fall will be a great opportunity.
The home opener for the Troops has also changed with the cancellation of their home double header with Casper on May 6th.
Next on the Troops schedule is a home double header with Powell May 13th.
ROCKIES BASEBALL -The Colorado Rockies beat San Diego last night 5-3, Jamie Moyer became the oldest pitcher in major league history to win a game at the age of 49.
