SHS BASKETBALL OPENS GREEN RIVER TOURNAMENT TODAY

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball teams are in Green River to start the Flaming Gorge classic tournament.

The Lady Broncs open with American Fork Utah this afternoon while the Broncs open the event with Jackson that game is schedule to tip off around 1:40 this afternoon and will be broadcast live on 14-10 KWYO.

Lady Broncs Head coach Sean Yeager says all three games are important especially the games tomorrow and Saturday with Rock Springs and Evanston.

Jo Co HS Athletes Compete This Week Before Break

Buffalo and Kaycee High School Athletes will compete in their last games this week before the Christmas and New Year's break.
The Bison swim team will host their Buffalo Pentathlon this Friday at the Johnson County family YMCA, beginning at 4pm.
The team will then travel to Newcastle on Saturday for their Invitational meet. The swimmers will then be off for the break until January 6th when they will be in Douglas.
The Bison boys' basketball team will host Powell on Saturday and take on the Broncs in Sheridan on Tuesday.

SHERIDAN HAWKS HOCKEY

The Hawks split two games this weekend against the Douglas Ice Cats. The first game the Hawks took 6-5.

They scored three goals in the first period in just under 2 1/2 minutes. Lane Barten scored a Hat Trick with assists from Jon Patrick Culhan and two from Shawn Konetski.

Two other goals came in the first period from John Patrick Culhan unassisted and Logan Garstad assisted again by Shawn Konetski.

The Ice Cats tied the score in the third period Shawn Konetski put the winning goal in the net with just over a minute to go with an assist from Lane Barten.

BRONC WRESTLERS WIN BIG

Broncs 160 Alex Smiley Tilts his opponent

SHERIDAN BRONC WRESTLING - The Sheridan Bronc wrestlers routed billings west Tuesday night. The dual was expected to be a good battle but the Broncs got rolling and ran away from the Bears winning the match 49-17.

Match winners Alex Smiley, Lucas Giesey, Clay Carter, Derek Berretini, Evan Forsyth, Gabe Legler, Jackson Hanify, Scott Hanify and Tory Music.

Head coach Scott Cleland says it was a great dual for the Broncs. And he says after three weeks he can see the Broncs starting to develop into a pretty good team.

Bison Swimmers Open Season Strong

The Buffalo High School boys' swim team opened their season in strong fashion last weekend, with good showings in Casper and Gillette.
The boys' team finished sixth at the Casper Relays on Friday and placed sixth again at the Gillette Pentathlon on Saturday.
The JV team finished first in Gillette behind a fist-place finish from Matt Scarlett, second place from Timothy Cohoon, third from Wyatt Zegstroo and fourth place from Randy Olson.

THE SHERIDAN BRONCS HOST A WRESTLING DUAL TONIGHT

BRONC WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers will have the first of two home duals tonight when the host Billings West, JV matches will begin at 5:00 with varsity matches scheduled to begin at 6:00.

First year Bronc Head coach Scott Cleland says the Broncs have had a good start their their season.

They are coming off a 6th place finish at the Rapid City invitational where they had one champion and four placers and Cleland says that was a very good outcome.
