BRONC FOOTBALL - Austin Woodward led the Broncs to the Semi-Finals last year as a junior. This season, the team leader has helped them get to the Championship round.
Woodward has played great for the Broncs and has come up big in some of the biggest victories over the last two years. The team is 18-3 since the start of the '08 season, and it's been said that this Bronc team has shown the true “team concept.” Woodward says it's been fun to play with a great bunch of guys.
They've won a lot of games the last couple of years, he says, staying focused and their hard work on and off the field has
paid off this year.
The Broncs and Cheyenne Central played four weeks ago. Central was up 20-7 in the second half before the Broncs rallied to win 28-20. Woodward says Central is an outstanding team, and they know it will be another great game.
BRONC FOOTBALL II - It's been a three-year process for veteran head coach Don Julian. In his first year, the Broncs had a winning season with five wins in nine games, but missed the Play-offs in 2007 by one game.
Then came 2008, which included an 8-game winning streak and a trip to the Semi-Finals. This year, they went on another long winning streak that has put then in the Title game. Julian says it's been a great journey for the program these
last three years.
One contributing factor to the team's success this season has been the leadership of the Senior class. Julian gives credit not only to the upper classmen but to the younger players as well for coming together to have a great season.
The players we have talked with this week have all said one thing in common: this year's Broncs have come together as a team. Julian agrees, saying that's why this group has made it this deep into the season.
