SHS HOOPS - The Sheridan High School basketball teams play at home tomorrow night against Green River. We will broadcast both games for you on AM 1410 KWYO. The Lady Broncs lead off at 5:45.
LADY BRONCS - Derek Bissitt begins his second season as the coach of the Lady Broncs. He says they're right on track as they get some good work done during pre-season workouts. And he talks about the changes in the team from a year ago. Saturday the Lady Broncs will play at home against Billings West, and next week they'll be at home with Buffalo
BRONCS - The Broncs return a good nucleus from a team that had a good post-season last spring. Head coach Mike Ibach says they're ready to get on the court and play for real. Several players are coming off the football championship, and Ibach says he has a good feeling about this year's addition of the Broncs.
After the Green River game tomorrow, they play Montana “AA” powerhouse Billings West in Billings, and come back next Tuesday with a road game at #1-ranked 3-A Buffalo. Ibach loves opening with these three opponents, as it forces the Broncs to get to mid-season form more quickly.
We will broadcast the Broncs tomorrow night. They follow the Lady Broncs on KWYO. We will also have them live Saturday at 4:30, and then Tuesday night at Buffalo.
BH/TR HOOPS - The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams open their basketball season at a tournament tomorrow in Lusk, and the Tongue River Eagles and Lady Eagles open at a tournament in Thermopolis.
A/C HOOPS - In Arvada/Clearmont basketball notes, both the Panthers and Lady Panthers were to open their season in Meeteetsee tomorrow, but the Meeteetsee boys had to cancel the game with the Panthers because the Longhorns don't have enough players to start the season.
Hilary Michelena from the A/C High School informed us yesterday that they will play the girls varsity game only; that game is set to start at 5:30.
UW BASKETBALL - The Wyoming basketball Cowboys will play at home Saturday against Loyola/Marymount. The game will be broadcast for you on KWYO and on our sister station 95.9 FM. The broadcast will follow the Bronc game at 6:30.
BRONC WRESTLING/SWIMMING - The Bronc wrestlers open tomorrow afternoon at a tournament in Powell, and the Bronc swimmers will begin their regular season next Friday at the Casper Relays.
UW FOOTBALL BOWLING - Still nothing official, but the University of Wyoming is working under the assumption the Cowboys will play in the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque December 19th. Official Bowl invitations will not be announced until Sunday afternoon.
The 10 BCS Bowl teams will be announced first, and then the 31 other games will be free to send out their own RSVP'S. Wyoming Athletic Director Tom Burman says Wyoming fans shouldn't make travel plans until they get the official invite Sunday.
Cowboy Head coach Dave Christensen has made out his practice plan assuming the Pokes will be in a bowl game.
This will be the Cowboys' first bowl invitation since 2004 when they went to the Las Vegas Bowl. That year they beat UCLA 24-21. That was the program's first bowl game win since the 1966 Sun Bowl.
