LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Lady Broncs open the “Flaming Gorge” Classic this evening in Rock Springs against the Lady Tigers.
Three teams are unbeaten in the Top 5 in the latest 4-A Girls Basketball poll. The Lady Broncs are 4-0 and ranked 2nd behind 4-0 Gillette this week. Also unbeaten is 3rd-ranked Laramie at 6-0.
Head coach Derek Bissitt is in his 2nd season with the Lady Broncs. They have no Seniors on the roster, and he says the more they play together, the more the Lady Broncs will continue to get better with their best basketball ahead of them. Bissitt says with a three-week break starting next week, these games become very important to the development of the players' confidence.
BRONC BASKETBALL - The Broncs open the Classic tonight against Class 3-A Jackson. The Broncs are ranked #2 in the 4-A poll, with the Jackson Broncs #3 in the 3-A poll.
The Sheridan Broncs are off to a good start at 3-1, and for the first in his six seasons at Sheridan High School, head coach Mike Ibach finally has a solid group with experience to work with. He says that's a big advantage to have.
Ibach says they have a lot of confidence heading into the tournament and are looking forward to finishing this part of the schedule strong.
BRONC WRESTLING / SWIMMING AND DIVING - The Bronc wrestlers finish up 2009 this weekend competing at an invitational tournament in Worland; and the Bronc swimmers and divers wrap up the year with a road dual at Cody tomorrow and the Riverton Invitational Saturday.
BIG HORN / TONGUE RIVER BASKETBALL - Big Horn and Tongue River basketball teams will play at a tournament shared by Wind River and Wyoming Indian High Schools tomorrow and Saturday.
UW FOOTBALL - The Wyoming football Cowboys play Fresno State in the New Mexico Bowl Saturday afternoon. Kick-off is at 2:30, and you can hear it live on AM 1410 KWYO
UW BASKETBALL - The Wyoming basketball Cowboys have a record of 5-5. Their next game is Sunday evening at the “AA” in Laramie against the University of South Dakota.
NFL - The Denver Broncos host the Oakland Raiders at Mile High Sunday afternoon. You can hear the game live on AM 1410 KWYO; broadcast time is 1:00 pm with kickoff at 2:00 pm.
