SPRING SPORTS ENTERS THE POST SEASON / TROOPER BASEBALL

BRONC / LADY BRONC TRACK AND FIELD - The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams finished up the regular season in Gillette Friday.

Dylan Morin and Taylor Kraft won events for the Broncs Morin took the 1600 meters and Kraft won the high jump the Broncs finished 4th as a team while the Lady Broncs finished 3rd.

EAGLES / RAMS TRACK AND FIELD - The Tongue River and Big Horn track teams closed out their regular season at the Upton invitational Friday no team scores were kept but six athletes won events.

For Tongue River Amanda Hutchinson won the 800 and 3200 meters, Addy Ostler won the 1600 meters, and for the Eagles Taylor Heaps took the 200 and 400 meters.

For the Big Horn Rams Wyatt Mirich took both hurdle races for the Lady Rams Brittny Popp won the 300 meter hurdles and Maddie Kobold too the high jump.

REGIONAL TRACK AND FIELD - Sheridan high school will host the two day regional track meet for all 4-A, 2-A and 1-A east teams Friday and Saturday events get underway Friday morning at 9:00.

LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Lady Bronc soccer team split their games with the Cheyenne school this past weekend they beat Cheyenne East 2-1 and lost to Cheyenne Central 3-1.

The Lady Broncs open up regional tournament play Thursday in Casper against Cheyenne East.

BRONC SOCCER - The Broncs lost at East 2-1 Friday but came back Saturday and beat Central 2-1 they finish the regular season second in the conference giving them an automatic bid into the state tournament.

They will play in the regional semi finals Friday in Laramie against the winner of Thursday's game between Cheyenne East and Gillette.

BRONC / LADY BRONC GOLF - The Sheridan high school golfers won their 17th tournament in a row Friday winning in Casper.

Cameron Lindell was the overall medalist. Lindell beat teammate Taylor Reed in a playoff.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs play their final regular season meet tomorrow weather permitting at Kendrick golf course.

The season ends this weekend in Cheyenne with the conference championship at the Airport club Friday and Saturday.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers swept a double header from Powell Saturday during the home opener for 2011.

The Troopers took both games by the same score of 12-2 Head coach Ben Phillips says starting pitcher Lucas Giesey had a great outing in the opener.

Giesey held the Pioneers to two runs and three hits he also had eight strikeouts in five innings.

Shiller Murphy came in to close out the first game and got out of a jam and also produced at the plate
as well.

After being shutout in the first and second innings they got the bats rolling and banged out 13 hits in three innings.

The Troops are now 3-1 overall and Phillips says the players have done a good job the last several weeks getting themselves ready for a long season.

They had their double header in Cody rained out yesterday next up on the schedule two in Casper Saturday.
