Here is a look at some of the local sports action leading up to the Christmas Break.
In swimming the Buffalo High School Bison Boys came out on top at the Newcastle Invitational with wins in seven different events for a total of 325 points. Buffalo swimmer Nate Holt stood out with wins in three races while fellow team member Matt Scarlett won two of his own. Both of these athletes went on to be a part winning relay teams as well.
The Sheridan High School Broncs put in a great effort at the Riverton Invitational, but came up a little bit short placing 13th.
In Basketball, Sheridan High School teams won both of their games against Buffalo High School with the Broncs defeating the Bison by a score of 62 to 46, and the Lady Broncs beating the Lady Bison 57 to 31.
The #4 Big Horn Rams lost a close one to Moorcroft on Thursday by a score of 77 to 72. The Lady Rams dominated in their game against the Lady Wolves 52 to 32.
At week's end both the Sheridan Lady Broncs and Tongue River Lady Eagles have maintained #1 rankings within their divisions!
The University of Wyoming men's and women's basketball teams are doing very well with the Cowgirls improving to a record of 9-2 from their victory against Ball State earlier this week, while the Cowboys kept their streak alive by beating UC Santa Barbra 56 to 40...thus ending the year with an undefeated 12-0 record!
Sheridan Media Sports coverage continues today with Football! The Denver Broncos are taking on the Cleveland Browns and the game will be simulcast on 87.7 ESPN SPORTS and 1410 KWYO. The Pregame begins at 12:05pm.
