Soccer and Track post season opens / Ritterbusch signs to play tennis / Troopers on the road this week
BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams head to their regional this week in Gillette. The Broncs open the first round Thursday with Cheyenne East in a loser out match at 5:30.
The Lady Broncs have an automatic bid into the state tournament and a first round bye at the regional they play in the semi finals Friday.
TRACK AND FIELD - High school track and field Regionals begin Friday, the 4-A East will be held at Cheyenne South high school.
Big Horn, Tongue River, Arvada/Clearmont and NSI track athletes have their regional meet in Torrington.
TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are schedule to play at Rapid City Post #320 Saturday and two in Powell Sunday. The next home date for the Troops will be Thursday, May 29th in a double header with Douglas.
RITTERBUSCH SIGNS TO PLAY TENNIS - - Sheridan high school senior Reed Ritterbucsh signed a national letter of intent to play tennis at Augustana in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Ritterbusch is a two time all state tennis player winning a state title in 2012 and this past season was a runner up making it back to the title match.
Reed is also a two time all-state basketball player for the Broncs and currently is playing on the bronc soccer team as they get ready to open up the regional tournament Thursday.
Ritterbusch says the best part of being in athletics at Sheridan high school was competing with his teammates.
After being a three sport athlete he says now he can concentrate on improving his skill in just one sport.
And he said it wasn't just being able to continue playing tennis in college but also getting the opportunity to go to a very good school.
SHS SPRING SEASON - The spring sports season ends with state track and soccer next week, Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian says it's been a good spring season at Sheridan high school as they look ahead to capping of the school year.
ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies were off Monday, today they open a two game series in Kansas City, the first pitch will be tossed out tonight at 6:10 on 87.7 FM ESPN radio.
