COWGIRLS LOOKING GOOD IN 2013

WYOMING COWGIRLS - The Wyoming Cowgirls are 6-2 in league play and the cowgirls are off until Saturday night when they host Boise state.

We heard from Cowgirls Kayla Woodward and Fallon Lewis Monday and we finish that up today.We found out yesterday Woodward was named the Mountain West conference player of the week after the Cowgirls pick up wins at New Mexico and at home against Colorado state.

ELKS HOOP SHOOT DISTRICT RESULTS

The Elks Northeast District Hoop Shoot was held Saturday, February 2 in Cody.

The participants were the winners of the local Hoop Shoots held in Cody,Powell, Greybull, Worland and Sheridan.

Five kids from the Sheridan area participated with two of them placing first and qualifying to go to the State Hoop Shoot in Casper on Feb. 16

In the 8 - 9 Girls, Tori Pearce made 11/25 to win over Kennedy Nieman of Cody
with 8/25.

In the 10 - 11 Boys, Brock Bomar made 20/25 to beat out Rudy Sanford of
Worland with 18/25.

SHERIDAN'S WOODWARD MWC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LARAMIE, Wyo. -For the second time this season, Wyoming forward Kayla Woodward earned Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for games played from Jan. 28-Feb. 3, 2013. It is the fourth honor of her MW career.

Woodward, a sophomore from Sheridan, Wyo., led Wyoming to a 2-0 record with a road win at New Mexico (72-54) and a home victory over Colorado State (82-67).

WEEKEND LOCAL SPORTS WRAP UP

SHERIDAN HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams dropped games in Gillette Friday the Lady Broncs lost 55-45 and the Broncs 77-70.

This week they begin the 2nd round of conference play the Lady Broncs will play at Laramie and Cheyenne South while the Broncs host Laramie and South.

TONGUE RIVER BASKETBALL - The Tongue River Eagles and Lady Eagles played Sundance and Rocky Mountain. The Lady Eagles swept both games winning 65-33 and 61-47 to run their record to 18-0.

Tough Weekend For Johnson County HS Athletes

High School athletes from Buffalo and Kaycee High Schools had a tough weekend of competition beginning with the basketball games canceled for Buffalo's teams on Thursday.

Weather and road conditions prompted the cancellation of games between Buffalo and Worland, which have been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 12th at BHS.

Sports Action From Saturday

Here is a look at the results from local sports teams in action this weekend.
In boy's basketball #4 Big Horn lost to #1 Lovell by a score of 56 to 51, while Tongue River was topped by Rocky Mountain 62 to 38.
Girl's basketball saw the Buffalo Lady Bison defeating Glenrock 47 to 46. The #1 Tongue River Lady Eagles continued their winning ways against Rocky Mountain in a 61 to 47 victory. The Big Horn Lady Rams lost to #2 Lovell 40 to 34.
