THE WINTER SPORTS SEASON RESUMES THIS WEEK

Generals and Lady Generals play at home Friday and Saturday

GENERALS / LADY GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals held their youth basketball camp yesterday.

Last night the Generals had their first practice back after the break as they get ready to host Wyoming conference games with the Lady Generals this week.

The Generals ended 2010 with a 10-1 record head coach Steve Smiley was happy with the effort. And he says it's a short week to get ready to play Friday.

LADY BRONCS READY TO MAKE A RUN IN 2011

LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Lady Broncs hope to keep the momentum rolling into the new year. They started 7-0 and ranked #1 in class 4-A.

The average margin of victory has been 44 points Head coach Derek Bissitt says the Lady Broncs are ready to re-start the season.

One thing you notice being around the team is the dedication and focus on making this a special season.

UW Cowgirls play their final tune-up tonight and begin MWC play next week

COWGIRLS BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls will play an exhibition game tonight in coaches Joe Legerski and Gerald Mattinson's home town Rock Springs.

Legerski says since the demise of the old Cowboy and Cowgirl Shoot-out in Casper they've been talking about taking the Cowgirls out on the road to sites around the state.

Tonight's game with Western Montana is the first of many they hope to plan in the year's to come.

BRONCS GET BACK ONTO THE COURT

BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Bronc basketball team is back in the gym this week getting ready to start up the season again a week from tomorrow.

Head coach Mike Ibach says a few days off for Christmas rested up the Broncs and they've hit the court running this week. And with the players mentally refreshed they are having a good week so far.

They finished December 5-2 over all and Ibach says they were happy with the progress they saw and need to build on that success.

COWGIRLS BASKETBALL - The Cowgirls will play in Rock Springs Thursday , it's an exhibition with Western Montana they open MWC play January 5th with a home game with Colorado state.

The Cowgirls sit at 9-3 overall and Head coach Joe Legerski has been pleased with the start.

COWBOYS BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys will play tonight when they host a game with Kennesaw state from Georgia. The pokes are coming of a loss to Wisconsin-Green Bay that dropped them to 6-7 on the season.

WYOMING COWBOYS BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys will play tomorrow when they host a game with Kennesaw state from Georgia.

The Pokes are coming of a loss to Wisconsin-Green Bay that dropped them to 6-7 on the season Head coach Heath Schroyer talks about some concerns coming off the loss to Wisc.Green Bay.

And Schroyer says they just need more time to get more mature as a team.

COWGIRLS ROLL:PICK UP WIN #9

WYOMING COWGIRLS BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls played at Utah state yesterday and picked up their 9th win of the season after blowing out the Aggies 80-50.

The Cowgirls are now 9-3 overall got 24 points from Hillary Carlson , Aubrey Vandiver chipped in with 18 points and a dozen rebounds and five assists.

The Cowgirls will play on the 30th in Rock Springs, it's an exhibition with Western Montana they open MWC play January 5th with a home game with Colorado state.

COWBOYS STREAK ENDS/ COWGIRLS PLAY TODAY

WYOMING COWBOYS - The Wyoming Cowboys are 7-7 after seeing their winning streak end at three games last night with a home loss against Wisconsin-Green Bay. They are now off until next Tuesday when they host a game with Kennesaw state from Georgia.

They close out 2010 with a road game at Houston-Baptist on New year's eve then open MWC play at Colorado state on January 4th.
