BENEFIT ON-LINE AUCTION OPENS MONDAY FOR WESTON JOHNSON / POKES FALL IN 2ND ROUND OF THE CBI

WESTON JOHNSON BENEFIT - Sheridan Media will facilitate a fund raising on-line auction on our website sheridanmedia.com beginning April first for former Wyoming Cowboy football player and Sheridan high school assistant football coach Weston Johnson.

Johnson is battling melanoma and the "Never Flinch" group is putting on this auction to help Johnson is his battle.

Sheridan high school head football coach Don Julian is helping head the effort Julian says Weston's treatment for melanoma continues and he is showing great courage.

Pokes End CBI Run with 75-67 Overtime Loss to Western Michigan

Five Cowboys scored in double figures and the University of Wyoming men’s basketball team took Western Michigan to overtime, before falling 75-67 in the CBI quarterfinals on Monday night in the Arena-Auditorium.

The Broncos (22-12) sent the game to overtime on a last-second three and outscored the Pokes (20-14) 16-8 in the extra period to break UW’s 23-game non-conference winning streak in the AA.

“The last game of the season is always tough,” UW head coach Larry Shyatt said. “Yes this one was tough, but I thought our guys played the game the right way.

Sheridan's Wyoming K/C Free Throw Champion

12 year old Jaxon Parker was in Casper on Saturday for the State Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championships.

Jaxon won the 12 year old division by making 21 out of 25 Free Throws he is a sixth grader at Holy Name Catholic School.His parents are Shane and Heidi Parker.

WEEKEND SPORTS WRAP / POKES PLAY ROUND TWO OF THE CBI TONIGHT

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Lady Bronc soccer team split their opening conference matches over the weekend. they beat Cheyenne South 1-0 Friday and dropped a 2-0 decision to Laramie Saturday.

The Broncs whipped South 7-1 and dropped a 3-0 match at Laramie Saturday.

Both teams play once this week as they play at Buffalo Thursday night girls at 4:00 and the boys at 6:00.

BRONC / LADY BRONC TRACK - The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams had their meet at Cody canceled Saturday, this week they will travel to an invitational meet in Gillette Thursday events begin at 10:00 am.

Not Too Busy HS Sports Weekend In Jo Co Thanks To Snow

What was scheduled to be a pretty busy sports weekend in Johnson County fizzled fairly quickly with the weather moving in late Friday and into early Saturday, postponing soccer and track and field events at BHS.

The Bison and Lady Bison were able to get their Friday matches in before the snow hit hard.

TROOPERS OPEN 2013 IN 5 WEEKS / SC SOCCER WILL NAME COACHES NEXT WEEK

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers open their season at home Saturday, April 27th with a double header against Cody we will broadcast the home opener live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

One of the highlights of this year's Trooper schedule will be a trip to play in a tournament in Omaha. Nebraska.

The tournament will take place at the same time the college world series is going on an Trooper Head coach Ben Phillips says it will be a great experience for the players.

Buffalo High School athletes begin another busy weekend today, as the soccer teams are in action and the BHS track and field team readies for their annual track and field event scheduled for Saturday.
