SHERIDAN LITTLE LEAGUE MAKES A GREAT SHOWING AT THE STATE TOURNAMENT

SHERIDAN LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL - The Sheridan Little League team made it all the way to the semi-finals at the state tournament over the weekend before being eliminated. The team went 5-1 overall in the tournament and coach Mike McCafferty says it was a tremendous experience for the
players.

They also found out it was Sheridan's first appearance in the State Little League tournament in the 60 year history of the event. And McCafferty says the players represented Sheridan well and played great baseball.

Team members were Noah Gustofson, Jesse Cross, Jeffery Shanor, Coy Steel, Blake Godwin, Luke Cross, Turner Martini, Andrew Jager, Max Lube, Davis Alden, Zach Campbell, Nolan McCafferty and Caleb Hoopes.

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL STATE TOURNAMENT - The State American Legion baseball tournament starts tomorrow morning, these are the first round match-ups. Torrington takes on Powell at 9:00. Rock Springs plays Gillette at noon. Casper plays Cheyenne at 3:00 and the Troopers will play Laramie in the late game at 8:00.

SHS BOOSTER CLUB GOLF - The Sheridan high school booster club will host their golf tournament at the Powder Horn Friday. The tournament will shot gun start at 9:00 am and is a four person team scramble. To enter a team please contact Don Julian at Sheridan high school 672-2495 ex. 3106.

FALL HIGH SHOOL ATHLETICS - The Bronc football team opens practice on ugust 9th with the rest of the fall sports follow a week later. A reminder all Sheridan County junior high and high school athletes must have sports physicals compete before they can practice with teams.

LITTLE GUY FOOTBAL - Next week registration begins for the Sheridan Recreation District Little Guy football program.
They will take registration at the Rec District office in Thorne-rider park. 1-4 grades play flag football and 5th and 6th grade tackle. All tackle players must have a sports physical complete before they can participate. For more information call the Rec.District at 674-6421.

LADY BRONC YOUTH VOLLEYBALL CAMP - The Sheridan Lady Bronc Volleyball team will host a one day camp for girls in the 4th- 6th grades. The camp will be held at the Sheridan county “Y”August 11th. They are taking registration at the “Y” this week the cost is 40 dollars per camper. The Lady Broncs and their coaches will be the clinicians.
