SHERIDAN COLLEGE BASKETBALL SWEEPS THE WEEKEND

SHERIDAN COLLEGE BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college basketball teams swept to victories on both night's of the Sheridan Lions club tournament the Lady Generals are 8-1 overall the Generals are 9-0.

Generals Head coach Steve Smiley says the opponents may have not been that strong but he was pleased with how the Generals played.

Questions about their freshmen guards were answered over the weekend with pretty good defensive play.

The Generals will be at home again this weekend hosting another four team tournament they will host along with Gillette, Eastern Wyoming and a team of All-stars made up of former college players.

The Lady Generals will play out of town this weekend at a tournament at North Idaho community college in Coeur D'Alene

HIGH SCHOOL HOOPS - The Sheridan high school basketball teams open the season hosting a double header with Green River Friday night both games will be broadcast live on 14-10 KWYO and 95.9 FM. The Lady Broncs play at 5:45 and the Broncs at 7:30.

The Tongue River and Big Horn basketball teams will open their seasons playing at tournaments Friday and Saturday.

Tongue River plays in Thermopolis and Big Horn heads to Lusk.

BRONC WRESTLING - The Sheridan Bronc wrestlers will open their season at an invitational tournament in Powell Friday and Saturday.

WYOMING HOOPS - The Wyoming basketball Cowboys had no problem winning three straight games at the "Jim Thorpe" classic tournament over the weekend in Laramie.

The Pokes beat Portland state, Maryland-Eastern Shore and Sunday night the finished up the weekend with a 73-58 win over Louisiana Tech.

The Pokes are now 7-1 overall and will play another home game Wednesday night against Utah Valley.

That game will be broadcast live Wednesday night on 14-10 KWYO and 95.9 FM. Broadcast time is at 6:30 with the tip at 7:00.

WYOMING FOOTBALL - The Wyoming football Cowboys lost at Boise state Saturday this week the Pokes close out the regular season at Colorado state. The game will be played in Fort Collins Saturday at noon.

BRONCOS FOOTBALL - It was "Tebow Time"again Sunday as the Denver Broncos came from behind to force overtime and then win it in extra time 16-13 over San Diego.

Tebow is now 5-1 as a starter and the Broncos have won four straight for the first time since 2009. This week the Broncos are on the road they play at Minnesota Sunday.
