THE BRONC CELEBRATE THE 2011 STATE SOCCER TITLE

4-A STATE SOCCER CHAMPIONS - The Sheridan Broncs are the 2011 4-A Wyoming state soccer champions they beat Laramie 2-1 in the title game Saturday at the Big Horn Equestrian Center.

Laramie scored the games 1st goal in the opening minutes of the game but the Broncs would answer back scoring twice in the span of three minutes late in the first half to grab the lead.

Junior Hunter Reece got the go ahead and game winning goal in the 31st minute as both teams went scoreless in the second half.

After the victory Sheridan Senior Zack Will. And he says they had to work from behind to get it done.

Head coach Kevin Riser says this title was a year of hard work since losing in the championship game last spring. And he says the title game went exactly like they expected.

The Buffalo Bison finished as the 3-A runner up after losing to Cody 2-1 the Lady Bison finished 3rd beating Cody 4-3.

STATE TRACK AND FIELD - The state track and field championships concluded Saturday in Casper three Sheridan county athletes won individual state championships.

Tongue River Lady Eagle Hunter Vineyard capped off the season winning the 2-A girls high jump and Eagles runner Taylor Heaps took the championship in the 800 meters.

Wyatt Mirich from Big Horn finished off his senior season winning the 2-A boys high jump.

Here are the team scores from Sheridan county in class 1-A the Arvada/Clearmont Lady Panthers finished 8th, the NSI girls were 18th and the NSI boys finished 13th.

In the 2-A team race the Tongue River Eagles finished 4th the Lady Eagles were 6th, the Big Horn Rams were 5th and the Lady Rams were 13th.

The Sheridan Bronc and Lady Bronc teams both finished 10th in the 4-A team race.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers were rained out in Billings Saturday. The Troops will play at a tournament in Gillette this weekend.

The next home date for the Troops will be a double header with Douglas on June 3rd.
