SC Volleyball Signs Colorado recruit

The Sheridan College Volleyball team is pleased to announce their latest addition to the 2014 roster with the signing of Mikayla Hoffman. Mikayla is a 6’0” middle hitter form Kersey, Colorado.

“Mikayla is a huge addition to our roster for next season. She not only is a great competitor but one of the top proficient hitters in the state of Colorado.” Said Head Coach Jennifer Stadler

Hoffman joins the Generals after a tremendous high school career playing for one of the top high schools in the state. Hoffman helped lead Platte Valley to multiple state tournament appearances and finished her senior year with an overall career record of 55-25.

During her senior season, Hoffman amassed 247 kills, with a .375% in hitting, 40 solo blocks, 90 total blocks, 44 aces and 151 digs. Mikayla was a three sport athlete at Platte Valley lettering in volleyball, basketball and track. She received in volleyball all conference honorable mention in 2011 and 2012.

Hoffman’s senior year she received all conference honors, all state, 3A elite volleyball team, was selected to play in the CHSCA all state volleyball games and was captain of her team.

Mikayla also excels in track earning honors on the 2012 all-state team for the 400 meter relay and honorable mention in 2013 for the 400 meter relay. She helps hold the record at Platte Valley for the 400 meter relay. “Mikayla is a hard worker with a lot of drive and passion. She is a pleasure to watch on the court and will have a big immediate impact for us in the front row.” Said head coach Jennifer Stadler.

Although her high school volleyball career has come to a close, Mikayla still has another promising season of club volleyball ahead of her as she trains with the Eaton Volleyball Academy.

Hoffman plans to pursue a Nursing degree while attending Sheridan College. Hoffman boasts a 3.8 GPA while attending Platte Valley High School. She is also a member of the national honor society, student council and FCCLA. “We are excited for Mikayla to join our volleyball family and can’t wait for next season to start!” Said Jennifer Stadler
