This weekend the Sheridan College rodeo team traveled south to Fort Collins, Co to compete in their third rodeo of the spring season.
Shane Stevens stepped up again in the Bareback riding placing fourth in the first round, Shane also placed fourth in the second round and finished third in the average, all with a torn mcl in his right knee. An injury he suffered last weekend in Torrington, WY.
The goat tying was very tough this weekend but Chelsey Kelly was able to make it back to the short round in ninth place. She tied for third and fourth in the short round and split sixth, seventh and eighth in the average.
Ty Hiatt placed eighth in the saddle bronc riding but was unable to get his short round horse covered and placed eighth in the average.
Kelsey Hanson placed eleventh in the breakaway roping missing the short round by one one hundredth of a second. Kelsey Hostutler and Shane Stevens placed thirteenth in the team roping missing the short round by three one hundredths of a second.
Considering that the team has not been able to fully practice due to the weather conditions they are hanging in there against schools who have indoor facilities at their disposal.
They will have a week off then head to Casper, WY in two weeks.
