GENERALS / LADY GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college basketball teams are out on the road this week the Lady Generals open a three game tournament today at the Air Force Academy.

Next week they are back in Sheridan hosting a two day tournament

The Generals will play at a tournament at the College of Southern Idaho this weekend. Their first opponent will be the 12th ranked team in the country Monroe college of Brooklyn, New York.

Head coach Steve Smiley says they are off to a good start but play has been a little inconsistent and he says this Generals team can be very good if the hard work continues.

And he says the schedule before the first of year is loaded on purpose with good opponents.

Next week they play at a tournament at Northwest college in Powell then home for a game on Tuesday the 20th against Eastern Wyoming.

Both teams then host the annual Lions club Thanksgiving tournament Friday and Saturday on the 23rd and 24th.

WINTER SPORTS SEASON - The High school winter sports season starts after school Monday as the Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams and the Bronc wrestlers will open practice.

Basketball practice for the rest of our Sheridan county teams Big Horn, Tongue River, NSI and Arvada/Clearmont begin Monday as well.

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming basketball Cowboys play at home Saturday night against Western state the Cowboy pregame will start at 7:30 with kickoff at 8:00 live on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

COWBOY FOOTBALL - The Wyoming football Cowboys play at New Mexico Saturday afternoon Cowboy pregame at 12:30 with kickoff at 1:30 live on KWYO and 87.7 FM.

BRONCOS FOOTBALL - The Denver Broncos play at Carolina Sunday it's an early broadcast with the pregame show live at 9:05 on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies will officially announce former Rockies Shortstop Walt Weiss will take over as the Rockies next manager.

Weiss played, coached and work in the Rockies front office, this past year he spent coaching his son's high school team in Denver.

The team will hold a news conference introducing Weiss tomorrow at Coors field.
