Trooper baseball / SC at the CNFR / Rockies fall at home

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers dropped a game to Rapid City Post 320 Sunday the second game of the double header was rained out.

The Troops dropped the first game 8-0 and struggled at the plate with only four hits, Head coach Ben Phillips.

The second game was better with the bats but the troops just couldn't come up with a big two out hit.

The second game was called off when the rain hit again in the fifth inning.

General's Schuelke Wins all-around National title at CNFR

Sheridan college has a new national Rodeo champion.

Taygen Schuelke has won the coveted All Around Cowboy title at the CNFR this year.

Zeke Thurston placed 2nd in the nation in the bronc riding and Taygen was 3rd in the bronc riding and he was 4th in the bullriding.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers jumped out to a big lead and beat Summit,Colorado last night 11-2.

They have a change to their schedule tonight, their game with Cheyenne has been canceled so they have a couple of days off to get ready as they host a home double header Sunday afternoon with Rapid City Post #320 the first game is schedule to start at 1:00.

TROOPER YOUTH BASEBALL CAMP - The Troopers will hold the 20th annual Trooper youth baseball camp next week Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Thorne-Rider stadium.

Cheyenne's Nimmo promoted to 'AA" By the New York Mets

2011 Cheyenne East HS grad and former Cheyenne Post 6 baseball player Brandon Nimmo has received the call, to starting playing with the New York Mets ‘AA’ team in Binghampton, New York.

The 21-year old 2011 first round pick of the Mets, up until his 2014 promotion, has been with the single-A team in St. Lucie, Florida, where he had a .322 batting average, and he has led the Florida State League with an on base percentage of .448, and has hit 4 home runs.

Wyoming Extends Contract for Head Basketball Coach Larry Shyatt Through April of 2019

LARAMIE, Wyo. (June 17, 2014) - University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman announced Tuesday he is extending the contract of head men’s basketball coach Larry Shyatt through April of 2019.

Shyatt recently completed his third season at Wyoming since returning to UW in the spring of 2011 and his fourth overall season at Wyoming, having also served as head coach of the Cowboys for the 1997-98 campaign.

HOOP CAMPS - Sheridan college women's basketball coach Frank McCarthy finishes up his girls youth basketball camp today, next week Generals Head coach Steve Smiley will host the final camp of the summer at the Hoffman dome for the summer as he and his staff host their Elite camp.

This camp is invitational only for the best high school players in Wyoming.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are back at practice today getting ready for three game games this weekend. they will play at Thorne-Rider stadium Friday night hosting a single game with Cheyenne, first pitch will be at 6:00.

Head coach Ben Phillips talked about the importance of their pitching yesterday he says today getting back to the basics each week is what will make them better as they head into the final month of the regular season.
