Spearfish, SD – Black Hills State University men's basketball senior Rob Johnson was named the Independent Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his efforts over the past week against S.D. Mines, Northern New Mexico and Johnson & Wales. Johnson helped the Yellow Jackets go 3-0 on the week.
"This is a great honor for Rob who has stepped up as a major leader this year as a senior," said Head Coach Bradd Schafer. "He has truly taken advantage of a new role this season."
Rob Johnson a forward from Dayton, Wyo., averaged 17.3 points, 8 rebounds and blocked 1.7 shots a game while shooting 48.6% from the floor (18-37), 46.2% from behind the arc (6-13) and 83.3% from the line (10-12) in leading his team to a 3-0 record this past week.
Johnson scored 17 points and pulled in nine rebounds in a 76-60 win over South Dakota School of Mines. Johnson followed that up with 24 points and 10 rebounds in a 90-68 victory over Northern New Mexico. Johnson finished the week with 11 points and five rebounds to propel the Yellow Jackets to an 87-63 win over Johnson & Wales.
