REGIONAL BASKETBALL / LADY BRONCS TAKE REGULAR SEASON CONFERENCE TITLE

1-A / 2-A REGIONAL HOOPS - 1-A and 2-A regional basketball tournaments started Thursday all five Sheridan county teams posted first round victories and moved on to the semi finals

The A/C Lady Panthers beat Rock River 52-41 they face Upton in the semi finals today at 4:00.

The Big Horn Lady Rams beat Burns 44-26 and will play Southeast in the semi finals at 5:00.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles beat up Pine Bluffs 56-18 to remain unbeaten they face off with Lusk in the other semi at 8:00.

The Tongue River Eagles beat Pine Bluffs 36-30 and the Big Horn Rams cruised past Southeast 68-28 the Eagles and Rams meet in one of the boys semi finals ay 6:30.

LADY BRONC HOOPS - The Sheridan Lady Broncs swept past Gillette in the 2nd half last night and won 60-44 and with the victory claim the 4-A East regular season title and receive an automatic bid into the state tournament after the victory Head coach Sean Yeager.

They led by seven at halftime, then went off on the camels in the 3rd quarter stretching the lead out to 21 points and we asked Yeager what made the difference in the 2nd half.

Now they have the automatic state tournament bid in their back pocket and Yeager says that is a great reward for a fine regular season.

They have one goal down with two more to go and Yeager says they have a lot of tough work in front of
them.

BRONC HOOPS - The Broncs and Camels were tied at 11-11 all late in the first quarter but Gillette went on a 10-0 run to take a 21-11 lead after one quarter and never looked back as they pulled away and beat the Broncs 82-57.

Broncs Head coach Gale Smith says Gillette got rolling and when that happens it's hard to slow them down.

For the Broncs they will play an elimination game at the regional tournament in Gillette next Thursday if they win they advance and make the state tournament field and smith says their season has now been reduced to one game.

SC HOOPS - The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals finish up the regular season tomorrow in Casper. With a victory the Lady Generals will wrap up their regular season title and for the Generals a win gives them the home court advantage as they would host the region nine tournament that is set to begin March 2nd.

UW HOOPS - The Wyoming Cowboys will play at home against UNLV tomorrow night broadcast time is at 5:00 we will have it live for you on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM.

SWIMMING - The Bronc swimmers are competing at the state swimming and diving championships in Gillette the finals will get underway today.

WRESTLING - The Bronc Wrestlers are in Casper today to begin their state championships.
