All Weekend Local Sports Postponed / Cowboy Football v BYU in the Poinsettia Bowl Wednesday Night / Broncos fall to the Patriots

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball games with Billings Skyview were postponed a make up date as of today has not been set.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs are scheduled to play in the Energy classic tournament over in Gillette starting Wednesday the 28th the Lady Broncs will open with Bishop Gorman high school from Las Vegas the Broncs will open with Clark high school also from Las Vegas.

BH / TR BASKETBALL - The East / West challenge basketball event hosted by the Tongue River and Big Horn basketball teams was canceled over the weekend.

Sheridan Bronc Wrestler Finishes 2nd at the Annual Reno Tournament of Champions

Sheridan high school Senior Hayden Hastings made impressive run in the 170 pound wieght division at the Reno Tournament of Champions. Hayden made it all the way to the finals and lost the match in the closing seconds 4-2 and finished as the runner up. With the 2nd place finish Hastings acheives All-American Status.

Local High School sports Cancellations

The Sheridan high school games with Billings Skyview have been canceled they expect to play them sometime next week.

The Tongue River and Big Horn high schools have canceled the East / West Challenge tournament.

The Arvada/Clearmont Basketball teams have canceled all weekend games.

The Sheridan Bronc Wrestlers will not travel to compete in the Worland Dual Tournament.

The Bronc Swimmers and Divers will not be traveling to Cody and Riverton

Annual Elks Hoop Shoot in Sheridan Wednesday

The annual Elks Hoop Shoot is scheduled for Wed. Dec. 21 at 7PM at the Sheridan College Golden Dome. It is for boys and girls in age groups 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13.

PE Teachers at the schools in Sheridan and Johnson Counties to hold shoot-offs at their schools and send those school champions to the Hoop Shoot to determine the local Lodge champions.

The winners of the Lodge Hoop Shoot qualify to go to the district Hoop Shoot.

Winners can move on to State, Regional, and National Hoop Shoots with expenses paid by the Elks.

Sheridan Hawks Hockey Host Casper Saturday / Sunday / SHS, BH, TR and A/C Basketball canceled / Cowboy Basketball v Cornell Saturday Afternoon

HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY - The Sheridan Hawks hockey team is unbeaten through six games they will play at home this weekend they host two games with Casper tomorrow night at 6:30 and Sunday morning at 10:30.

Kirk Viren takes over this season at the Hawks Head coach Viren came up through the Sheridan program his first Head coach was his dad Bob and after being and assistant coach he takes over this winter.

Varsity tip off tomorrow night at Sheridan high school will be at 7:30 we will have it live for you on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

Bronc Swimmers and Divers Pick up Dual win at Buffalo / Bronc Hoops Play Home Opener Friday Night / Hawks Hockey Play Two at Home This Weekend

SWIMMING / DIVING - The Bronc swimmers and divers had a dual in Buffalo Tuesday night and came out on the winning side by the final score of 128-40 the Broncs won all the events including the diving.

They head out on the road Friday and Saturday for action in Cody and Riverton

SHS Senior Coy Steel 2016 Gatorade Football Player of the Year / BH andTR Host the East / West Challenge

2016 GATORADE FOOTBALL AWARD - The 2016 Wyoming football Gatorade player of the year is Sheridan Bronc Senior Coy Steel the award caps off a tremendous run by the Broncs this past season with several post season individual awards to go along with their second straight 4-A football title.

Last month Steel joined a long list of Bronc football All-state selections and was named the Wyoming defensive play of the year, meeting with Coy Monday he gave credit to his teammates and coaches.
