LADY BRONCS / GREEN RIVER OPEN THE STATE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

LADY BRONC BASKEBALL - The Sheridan Lady Broncs open the 4-A state basketball tournament today. They play the Green River Wolves we will have the game live for you this morning at 9:00 on 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

The Lady Broncs will be a big favorite today in the game with the Wolves but Head coach Sean Yeager says the players are focused on the big picture of having a chance to win a state title and having a let down against Green River isn't an option.

LADY BRONCS OPEN STATE HOOPS TOURNAMENT THURSDAY

LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Lady Broncs broncs open the 4-A state basketball tournament tomorrow as a number one seed. They play the Green River Wolves we will have the game live for you on 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

The Lady Broncs are 22-2 overall Green River is 5-21 they played the opening weekend of the regular season in December with the Lady Broncs winning 66-36.

Lady Bronc Head coach Sean Yeager says they are looking at getting deep into the tournament will not be over looking any opponent.

LADY BRONCS PREPARE FOR STATE HOOPS / SPRING SPORTS BEGIN

LADY BRONC HOOPS - The Sheridan Lady Broncs bronc basketball team opens the 4-A state tournament as a number one seed Thursday morning they open with green river in the first game in the bracket at 9:00.

In the last two weekends the Lady Broncs have won the regular season conference title and the conference tournament title beating Gillette twice on the way to both titles.

Head coach Sean Yeager says it was especially good for the Lady Broncs to win that conference tournament championship on Gillette's home court.

SHERIDAN FIGURE SKATERS BRING HOME MEDALS

Six Sheridan Ice Figure skaters competed in the 20th Annual Figure Skating Club of Billings Competition on March 2nd.

The girls competed in a total of 30 events this year and did very well. This was their final competition of the season.

Catherine Winnop -- 1 first, 3 second

Molly Butler -- 2 firsts, 1 second, 1 third, 1 fourth

Maggie Pierce -- 3 firsts, 2 thirds, 1 fourth

Kaylee Frank -- 1 second, 2 thirds, 1 fifth

TONGUE RIVER LADY EAGLES STATE BASKETBALL CHAMPS

STATE 2-A BASKETBALL - The Tongue River Lady Eagles ran the table and won the 2-A girls state basketball championship Saturday in Casper beating Thermopolis 41-30.

They led wire to wire in the title game and went unbeaten all year after the victory Head coach Diane Moser says it was a great season.

It's the 8th state title for Moser in 39 years as the Head coach of the Lady Eagles program and she says it's hard to compare teams and she feels all her teams are special.

Weekend Sports Action!

There was lots of exciting basketball action this weekend with the State Tournaments underway. The Tongue River Lady Eagles completed a perfect undefeated season with their victory over Thermopolis to take the State 2A Championship 41 to 30!
After defeating Sundance on Friday by a score of 34 to 31, the Bighorn Lady Rams lost a close one to Rocky Mountain 46 to 39 for the Consolation Championship.
The Sheridan Lady Broncs dominated Gillette on Saturday winning 54 to 38.
The Arvada-Clearmont Girls lost to Burlington 54 to 46 in their Consolation Championship game.

WYOMING COWBOYS vs. NEW MEXICO LOBOS

The Cowboys suffered their fourth-straight loss against the New Mexico Lobos with a final score of 53 to 42.

Wyoming finishes the regular season by hosting rival Colorado State on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
