Spring sports off to another COLD start

SHS SOCCER - The Bronc soccer team opened the spring season with a 3-0 shut out win at Riverton Friday, the Lady Broncs whipped Riverton in bitter cold 4-0.

All matches Saturday at the Casper jamboree were called off so they now look ahead to matches tomorrow night, the Broncs play at Kelly Walsh the Lady Broncs host KW the varsity play tomorrow at 6:00.

4-A ALL STATE HOOP TEAMS SELECTED / SPRING SPORTS BEGIN TODAY

4-A ALL CONFERENCE / ALL STATE HOOPS - The 4-A basketball post season awards are out the Broncs and Lady Broncs landed individuals on each list.

Three Lady Broncs made the all conference team they are Robbi Ryan, Taylor Townsend and Maddie McClure, Head coach Jessica Pickett was named conference coach of the year.

Ryan was named to the all-state team for the second year and was joined on the squad by Taylor Townsend.

Reed Ritterbusch and Dylan Daniels were named all conference for the Broncs and Ritterbusch was also named to the boys all-state team for the second straight year,

Pokes hoop season ends / Troopers and Jets prepare for spring baseball practice

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys lost last night at Texas A&M 59-43 in the first round of the CBI tournament which ends their season.

TROOPER BASEBALL - Sheridan American legion baseball held their first preseason meeting Wednesday night, Ben Phillips is back for his 6th season as the Troopers Head coach and says it was good to see all the players last night.

And he says they have a good infusion of young players coming into the program

COWBOY HOOPS - The Wyoming Cowboys will open play in the CBI tournament for the tonight at Texas A&M. We will have the game live for you on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM broadcast time is scheduled for 5:30.

BRONC SOCCER - The Sheridan Bronc soccer team has two more days of preparation as they get ready to start the new season again the weather has been hot and cold, Head coach Kevin Riser says the players dealt with it well being indoors Tuesday.

SC Rodeo Results

The Sheridan College Rodeo teams traveled to Gillette, WY last weekend for the first college rodeo of the spring season.

The Women’s team had an great showing splitting second place with Chadron State College. Gillette’s women’s team won the event.

The women team was led by Sophomore Teddi Schwagler from Mandan, ND.

Teddi was second in the long round in the Breakaway roping with a 2.9 second run, she missed her slack in the short round and placed 6th in the average. She also tied for 7th and 8th in the goat tying with team mate Jayne Lauweryssen from Big Valley, Alberta.

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys will play in the CBI post season tournament for the third straight year the 18-12 pokes open play tomorrow night at Texas A&M.

COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls season is over the 20-11 Cowgirls were snubbed by the Women's National Invitation tournament as the 64 team bracket was selected last night.

Lady Bronc hoops 3rd at state / Pokes get post season bid / Cowgirls play waiting game

LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Lady Broncs finished 3rd at the state tournament with a 70-62 victory over Gillette, the Lady Broncs took three out of four games this season from the Camels.

They bounced back after a heart breaking 46-43 semi final loss against Natrona county to win the third place game.

Head coach Jessica Pickett says it was good to see them play well after a tough loss the night before.

Robbi Ryan led the way with 19 points ,7 rebounds and 5 steals in three games Ryan averaged 18 points per game.
