Troopers win opener at state / Outdoor Volleyball Tourney Saturday / Rockies win / Broncos open exhibition football in a week

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers opened the state "AA" American Legion baseball tournament in Gillette last night and beat Jackson 12-10 to advance in the winner's bracket.

They will play number one seed Gillette at 7:00 tonight the other game today has Cheyenne taking on Casper at 4:00.

If they win tonight the Troops will move into the championship game, if they lose they will play the loser of today's game between Cheyenne and Casper tomorrow afternoon.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers open the state "AA" American Legion baseball tournament in Gillette tonight they play Jackson at 7:00.

Troopers Head coach Ben Phillips says the Troopers have to be patient at the plate.

The Troops played Jackson once this season winning that game at home, Phillips says the Giants have a good club and Troops will have to play well.

UW Volleyball Camp

University of Wyoming Satellite Volleyball Camp hosted by the Sheridan Volleyball Club at Sheridan High School.

Over 65 girls participated in the two-day camp under the guidance of UW Head Volleyball Coach Chad Callihan, UW Assistant Coach Dan Georgalas and UW players.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers will open the state "AA" tournament in Gillette tomorrow night they play Jackson at 7:00.

The winner plays top seed Gillette Thursday, the loser plays Friday against the loser of Thursday's match up between Cheyenne and Casper.

And he says it's not just throwing and mechanics it's the whole staff being mentally tough and ready to pitch.

Jets finish "B" tourney in 3rd place / Troopers open state "AA" Wednesday

JETS BASEBALL - The state "B" American Legion baseball tournament wrapped up Sunday at Thorne-Rider stadium the Sheridan Jets were eliminated in the first game yesterday.

The Jets won their first two games before taking a loss against Gillette Saturday. They faced Cheyenne yesterday for the right to take on Gillette again for the state title but lost 6-0 ending their season.

Head coach Ryan Murner says it's tough when the season ends.

STATE "B" BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets beat Casper to open their state tournament at Thorne-Rider stadium Thursday night.

Head coach Ryan Murner says the Jets played well and it was a good win.

They will play Cheyenne in one semi final tonight at 8:00, they haven't played each other this season and Murner expects a good ball game.

In other action yesterday Cheyenne beat Jackson 10-0 to advance, the other winner's game will have Gillette playing Cody at 3:00.

2014 SC Volleyball Summer Camps August 4-6

Grade 2-6 Skill Camp: This camp is designed for young volleyball players who want to learn and develop the fundamental skills of volleyball.

Campers will learn the fundamentals, rules and beginning skills of volleyball. The camp is a great opportunity to learn the game of volleyball in a safe and energetic environment.

The camp will go from 9:00 am-10:30 am on Monday-Wednesday August 4-6. Camp entry is open to girls or boys entering grades 2nd-6th. The camp cost is $60 per athlete.

State American Legion baseball starts today / 3 on 3 Summer Slam volleyball / Storm soccer registration continues

AMERICAN LEGION STATE BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets open their state tournament in the late game tonight at Thorne-Rider stadium.

They will play Casper in the first round, the Jets are the two seed heading into the post season.

The tournament starts with four games today, this afternoon at 1:00, 3:30 then the evening session at 6:00 and 8:30 the Sheridan "B" all-stars will play Gillette at 1:00, Laramie plays Cody at 3:30.

Cheyenne and Jackson play at 6:00 and the Jets play Casper in the late game at 8:30.
