New SC Volleyball Signee

The Sheridan College volleyball coaching staff was pleased to announce that 3 time state champion Courtney Smith from Ballantine, MT. Courtney has officially signed her National Letter of Intent to join the Generals next fall.

Courtney is a 5’9” middle hitter who can be used anywhere across the net. "I am very excited to add Courtney to our roster next year.

She is very athletic with a heavy swing. She has a good vertical leap and can be utilized in multiple positions for us next year.” Said head coach Jennifer Stadler

Smith joins the Generals after a stellar high school career. Courtney attended Huntley Project High School in Worden, MT. Smith helped lead the Huntley Project Devils to their 5th consecutive class 4B State Championship. During Courtney’s high school career at Huntley she lettered in varsity for 3 years and played in every match ending with an overall record of 104 wins to 5 losses.

Courtney tallied 776 kills, 140 blocks, 381 digs, 61 aces and 18 assist in the three years. Smith also received the following awards for her volleyball achievements being honored with all conference in 2012 and 2013, selected for all state in 2013 and made the all-tournament team all three years she lettered. Smith was all the Montana State Tournament MVP her senior season.

Also an Academic All-Conference award winner, Smith boasts a 3.7 GPA and plans to pursue a degree in nursing. “Courtney comes from a very successful high school program that prides themselves on dedication, passion and hard work. Courtney is a hard worker and will be a leader for us next year because of her work ethic and drive to be competitive. I am excited to see the level of play Courtney will bring to our growing program.“ said Head Coach Jennifer Stadler
