MONTANA SWEEPS ALL-STAR HOOP OPENER / TROOPERS FALL IN OMAHA / WYOMING SHRINE BOWL TONIGHT / ROCKIES TOP GIANTS
WYOMING / MONTANA ALL-STAR HOOPS - The first two games of the the Wyoming / Montana high school all star basketball series were played in Sheridan Friday night with the Montana all-stars taking both games, both went down to the final seconds.
The Wyoming girls overcame an early 12 point deficit to control most of the game and held a 55-54 lead in the final seconds, Montana's Jill Barta put an end to the game with a three point bucket with under four seconds to play to beat Wyoming 57-55.
Kacie O'Connor from Sundance and Kaylee Johnson from Natrona county led a balanced Wyoming scoring attack with 9 points each, Lady Bronc Maddy McClure had 5 points.
The boys game went down to the final minute with Montana completing a late come from behind victory, they did it from the free throw line holding of the Wyoming all-stars in the closing seconds 105-103,
Gillette's Cody Kelly led Wyoming with 22 and Sheridan high school's Reed Ritterbusch had 18.
Wyoming Ms. basketball went to Kaylee Johnson from Natrona county and Mr. basketball went to Cody Kelly from Gillette.
The series shifts to Billings tonight and we will have both games live on 14-10 KWYO pregame starts at 5:00 the girls tip at 5:30 and the boys at 7:30
TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are spending the next few days at a tournament in Omaha, Nebraska. The tournament coincides with the NCAA College World Series, as part of the trip the Troopers will have the chance to go watch the best college teams in the country compete.
They dropped their first game to Colorado - Centaurus 18-4, they play a game against Bloomington, Minnesota today.
WYOMING SHRINE BOWL - The 2014 Wyoming Shrine Bowl football game will kickoff tonight at 7:00 at Natrona county high school in Casper.
ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies opened a three game series at division leading San Francisco last night, the "Rocks" took down the giants 7-4 game two in this afternoon.
