BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs got into a great battle in Rock Springs Friday night, and came away with a 20-17 victory. The Broncs scored the first 13 points of the game, but couldn't put the Tigers away. The Broncs led 13-10 at half time; both teams scored in the second half and a late Rock Springs' charge fell short. The Broncs now find themselves at 3-1.

It turned into a tough game after they went ahead 13-0. Junior place kicker Drew Slikker came through with two big kicks, including a caree-high 48-yard field goal in the first half. The Broncs will be out on the road this week as well, but the trip is much shorter: they play at Gillette Friday. The Camels are 4-0, and ranked #1 in 4-a.

TONGUE RIVER - It was Homecoming Friday in Dayton. The Lady Eagles took out Moorcroft in three games in volleyball, and the Eagles dropped the football game 22-6. This week the Eagles travel to play at Burns.

BIG HORN - The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams both came through with victories during Big Horn Homecoming festivities Friday. The Lady Rams handled Wright, then the Rams took the field and beat the Panthers 37-0. This week the Rams face their biggest test of the season when they travel Friday to play at Glenrock.

UW - The Wyoming Cowboys' offense continues to struggle after being shut out at Colorado Saturday 24-0. The Pokes are now 1-2, and open Mountain West Conference play this week when they host UNLV Saturday at 1 o'clock.

NFL - The Denver Broncos beat up on a pretty bad Cleveland Browns team yesterday 27-6. The Broncos are now 2-0, and get into division play this week when they play at Oakland.

There were plenty of upsets in the NFL yesterday with Cincinnati beating the Packers in Green Bay 31-24; the Jets beat New England 16-9; and Houston knocked off Tennessee 34-31. Also last night the New York Giants got a late field goal to win in Dallas 33-31. Monday Night Football tonight has Indianapolis at Miami.

SHS VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan Lady Bronc volleyball team took two in Cheyenne over the weekend. The Lady Broncs, along with the Big Horn Lady Rams will play at the Casper Invitational this weekend. The Tongue River Lady Eagles play Conference matches with Wright and Sundance this week.

SC VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan College Lady Generals got beat by Casper College Saturday in three games. This week they play at the annual Wyoming / Nebraska Shootout played in Torrington and Scottsbluff.

GOLF - The State Golf Championships will be played this week the Sheridan. The Broncs are the defending champs at the State Tournament in Cheyenne. A practice round will be played Thursday, with two rounds Friday and Saturday. The Tongue River and Big Horn golfers will play at their State Tournament, hosted by Hulett, Friday and Saturday.

SWIMMING AND DIVING - The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers finished 6th at the Riverton Invitational. This week they compete at home with Cheyenne Central Friday and at the Sheridan Invitational Saturday.
