STATE VOLLEYBALL - The Big Horn Lady Rams have now won three consecutive 2-A State Volleyball Championships and did it in dominating fashion, crushing Pine Bluffs in three games by scores of 25-11, 25-13 and 25-14. After the victory, Sheridan media's Nick Andrews talked with Lady Rams coach Jamie Harvey.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Broncs advanced to the semi-finals in the 4-A Play-offs, beating Natrona County 41-17. The Broncs scored their first 21 points directly off Mustang turnovers. TJ Stender had back-to-back interception returns for touchdowns in the 2nd Quarter, as the Broncs built a 21-3 halftime lead.

They put more distance between NC when they scored on the opening drive of the 2nd half. Head coach Don Julian talks about beating a good Natrona team twice in seven days. And he said the Broncs needed to make a statement to open the 3rd Quarter.

The Broncs host Casper Kelly Walsh Friday night. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 6 o'clock. The Trojans beat the Broncs back in Week 1 for their only loss of the season. Julian says the Broncs are in for another great challenge.

RAMS FOOTBALL - The Rams saw their season come to a close Friday night in Greybull as they fell 42-20. Head coach Bert Dow says they ran into a good football team playing at the pinnacle of their game. Dow says he's proud of the fact that the Rams and Buffalos were the only 2-A teams from last year to make the play-offs this season. The rest of the teams left alive in the bracket were all 3-A teams last year.

STATE SWIMMING - The State Swimming and Diving Championships were held in Gillette over the weekend. The Sheridan Lady Broncs finished 9th overall. Top finishers for the Lady Broncs included Caitlin Dougherty 6th in the 100 meter breast stroke; Jessica Browning was 9th in the 200 meter free style; Rachel Ostrowski was 9th in the 100 meter butterfly; Christina Harrelson was 9th in the 500 meter free style; and Victoria Anderson was 12th in the 100 meter back stroke.

GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Sheridan College Generals opened the basketball season yesterday on the road in Williston, North Dakota, and they came out with a hard fought come-from-behind win 89-86. They were down by ten at halftime and 58-42 midway through the 2nd half before they rallied for the win. They are off this week.

LADY GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Lady Generals open the season hosting a tournament Friday and Saturday at the Hoffman Dome.

UW FOOTBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys lost 22-10 at Utah Saturday night. This week the Pokes are at home with BYU Saturday afternoon.

NFL - The Denver Broncos lost their first game of the season yesterday, losing 30-7 at Baltimore. Next up for the Broncos is a home game a week from tonight against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
