BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs opened the 2010 football season with a 35-0 shut out of Casper Kelly Walsh Friday night.

Zack Will got the 2010 season started taking the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and the Broncs were off and running. Senior quarterback Dan Zemski ran for a touchdown and threw for one in his first ever start and says the kickoff return really helped get him and the team going.

The Broncs took a 14-0 lead into the locker room at halftime then added two more scores in the third to put the game away and scored one more touchdown on the 2nd play of the 4th quarter.

Head coach Don Julian says Will's kickoff return looked good as soon as it was kicked. And winning the opener on the road was huge calling it a solid win for the
Broncs.

In the 4th quarter the coaches got everyone into the game and the underclassmen did a good job of preserving the shut out along with getting good quality minutes on the field.

The Broncs host Cheyenne East Friday night and a reminder it's an early start with kickoff scheduled for 6:00.

X-COUNTRY - The Sheridan high school cross country teams ran in Casper Friday Dylan Morin took the individual title in the race the Broncs placed 4th overall. Erin Kinsey was the Lady Broncs top finisher in 15th place.This week they run at an invitational in Gillette Thursday afternoon.

SHS GOLF - The Broncs golfers blew the field away in their own invitational at Kendrick golf course. The Broncs took the team title by 53 shots over 2nd place Gillette.

Kamrin Allen took the individual title, Taylor Reed was 2nd, Cameron Lindell was 3rd and were followed by Chris Cremer and Taylor Spiegelberg rounding out the top five. Cole Smith and Toby Nicholas also finished in the top ten.

This week the Sheridan high school golfers will play at two day tournament in Worland starting Thursday.

BH / TR GOLF - The Big Horn golfers finished 3rd at the Moorcroft invite last week. Bryce Williams finished 2nd overall. Matt Mullinax and Brady White finished in a tie for 10th. The Tongue River Eagles place 5th in the team race.

HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan Lady Broncs and Big Horn Lady Rams made it to bracket play in the Riverton invitational Saturday. The two teams met in the single elimination bracket in the first round with the Lady Broncs coming out on top. The Lady Broncs were then eliminated by Cody in the quarter finals.

Tomorrow night the Lady Broncs host their first conference match of the season against Gillette. The varsity match is scheduled to get underway at 7:00.

SHS TENNIS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams will play matches tomorrow at Casper Natrona. On Saturday the Broncs will play at a tournament in Scottbluff, Nebraska and all the JV's will play at a tournament in Casper.

LADY BRONC SWIMMING AND DIVING - The Lady Bronc swimmers got their season started at the Casper relays Friday, no team scores were kept. They competed at the Gillette Pentathlon Saturday and finished 6th. The Lady Broncs have a home dual Friday against Laramie at 5:00.
