LOCAL SPORTS WEEKEND PREVIEW / COWBOY BASKETBALL

SHS TRACK / SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams close out their regular season in Gillette today and the Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams also play their regular season finale in Gillette this evening.

The track meet starts at noon and the soccer will be at 4:00 and 6:00.

Regional track and soccer starts next week the soccer tournament will be played in Cheyenne the track and field regional will start a week from today in Gillette.

GOLF - The Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers tee it up today at the Casper invitational. Monday May 13th Sheridan will host the 4-A East conference tournament for two days at the Powder Horn.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers play at home against Powell tomorrow afternoon the first game of the double header starts at 1:00 Sunday they play two in Cody.

Our next live Trooper broadcasts will come next weekend when they host games with Post 6 from Cheyenne and the Billings Scarlets the teams will play round robin games next week Saturday and Sunday.

COWBOY HOOPS - Cowboy basketball coach Larry Shyatt made an appearance at this weeks Cowboy Joe function in Sheridan.

Shyatt first talks about heading into the off season. The Pokes started the season 13-0 and then the season went south when Luke Martinez was kicked off the team for his part in a bar fight in Laramie, Shyatt says they never recovered from that incident.

The good that came out of a 20 win season was several young players were forced to grow up fast. And finally Shyatt says the Mountain West this past season was brutal as the league as a whole top to bottom was rated as the best in the country.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies open a weekend series tonight with the Tampa Bay Rays you can hear that game live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio pregame at 6:00 first pitch at 6:40.
