Local Hockey Players Win Tournament with Team Wyoming
Three local hockey players named to the U16 Midget Minor A Team Wyoming hockey team(15 and 16 year olds) won the Silver Stick Hockey Tournament this last weekend in Denver CO.
They played six games total – they lost their first game to the Hyland Hills Panthers by a score of 1 to 0; they then beat the Colorado Jr. Eagles by a score of 6 to 0. In the third game they defeated the Littleton Hawks 4 to 2.
They lost their fourth game to Arvada (CO) 3 to 1. In the semi-finals they outscored Hyland Hills 5 to 4; and in the finals they tilted the Arvada team 3 to 2 to take the championship.
With this tournament win, Team Wyoming now has qualified for the Silver Stick Invitational Tournament in Toronto Ontario Canada in mid-January, which will include teams from both the U.S. and Canada.
Local players are Lane Barten, Collin Eisenman, and Logan Garstad.
