LOCAL GOLF - The Sheridan county junior golf program finished up the 2nd of their three tournament series yesterday at the Powder Horn.
The junior golf series is open to all junior golfers in Sheridan county ages 8-17.
The final event of the junior golf schedule will be Monday the 8th at Kendrick golf course registration forms for that event can be found at all three Sheridan county courses.
The Sheridan high school booster club will host their annual fund raising golf tournament at the Powder Horn Saturday. Call the Powder Horn to sign up your teams.
The Holy Name school fund raising golf tournament will be Saturday, as well the four person team scramble will be played at Kendrick golf course get teams together and enter at Kendrick.
The Trans-national golf tournament came to a close at the Powder Horn Sunday as a busy summer of events continues at the Powder Horn. The course is in prime shape head professional Jeff Rafferty.
They just finished up back to back major events the Summer Hummer and the Trans-national Rafferty says August sets up to be another busy month.
And Rafferty says the best is yet to come as September and October can be great months to get out on play.
LITTLE GUY FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Recreation district is holding little guy football registration this week. Sign-ups will take place at the Rec office in Thorne-rider park from 8:00 to 5:00 daily through Friday.
BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team leaders and coaches will be heading up into the Big Horns this week for their annual two day mountain retreat. They come down Sunday for the annual player, coaches and parent meeting.
The first day of two a day practice opens Monday the Broncs open the season at home August 26th against Cheyenne Central that game will have an early start time at 6:00.
AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - Cheyenne Post 6 won the state "AA" legion title beating Gillette in the title game 14-4 and now head to Billings for the start of the Northwest regional tournament.
Post 6 will open the tournament against Bellingham, Washington Thursday afternoon at 12:30.
