LOCAL BASEBALL POST SEASON PLAY CONTINUES THIS WEEK

SHERIDAN TROOPERS - The Sheridan Troopers lost against the host team Gillette in the north district tournament in Gillette Saturday night.

The Troops have a two seed as they get ready to open the state tournament Wednesday in Cheyenne.

The Troopers open with Laramie Wednesday afternoon.

SHERIDAN LITTLE BASEBALL - The Sheridan little league 9-10 year olds won their district tournament in Laramie last Friday beating Laramie in the title game 23-19 coming back from 12 runs down to win the game.

They open their state tournament today in Gillette, they face Powell in the opener at 6:00.

AMATEUR GOLF - The Powder Horn will be busy this week as some of the best amateur women's golfers from the United States and seven foreign countries will compete in the annual women's Transnational golf tournament.

The event begins with a practice round today then two rounds of stroke play before the top 64 advance to match play the tournament will run all week.

YOUTH VOLLEYBALL CAMP - Sheridan college women's volleyball coach Jennifer Weitzel and the Lady Generals will host their youth volleyball camp August 1st through 4th in the Hoffman dome at Sheridan college.

The morning session is for players K-5th grade and the afternoon session for players in the 6th through 12th grades.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams football team is holding their football camp this week at Big Horn high school.

The high school football season officially opens with all 4-A schools opening fall drills August 8th the rest of the state will follow August 15th .

The Sheridan Broncs open their season August 26th at home against Cheyenne Central.

The following week the Big Horn Rams open at home this year against Greybull the Tongue River Eagles open at home against Lyman and the NSI Wolves open at home against Rocky Mountain.
