STATE SOCCER - The 4-A East dominated play on the first day of the state soccer tournament as seven of eight teams advanced to the semi finals.
In the girls bracket the Sheridan Lady Broncs beat West number one seed Casper Kelly Walsh 1-0 they will play Gillette in the semi finals today, the other semi final has Laramie playing Cheyenne East
Three of the boys East teams advanced to the semi finals yesterday with Green River being the lone team from the west to make it to the winners bracket.
STATE TRACK - The Wyoming state track and field championships started Thursday in Casper. The state meet runs through tomorrow evening.
TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are scheduled to play their next four games in Gillette starting tonight.
They open the Gillette Memorial day tournament this evening against the host team then play two games Saturday then back over on Monday for one more game.
The Troopers are 3-3 on the season after taking three out of four on the road last weekend, Head coach Ben Phillips says the Broncs are hitting the ball well and that really opens up the game when they can get runners on base.
Next Thursday the Troops play at home for the first time and Phillips says they are all looking forward to playing at Thorne-Rider stadium.
ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants were rained out yesterday. The "Rocks' will play their next nine games on the road starting in Atlanta tonight.
