JETS DROP STATE OPENER / TROOPERS IN CASPER SATURDAY

SHERIDAN JETS/ STATE TOURNEY - The Wyoming American Legion "B" state tournament got underway yesterday the Sheridan Jets dropped their opening game against Casper 10-0 in the other game Cheyenne shut down Gillette winning 10-1.

Jets will play the late game tonight at 7:00 against Laramie. the first game today will be at 9:00 am with Cheyenne playing Jackson, Laramie and Casper play at noon, Jackson faces Gillette at 3:00.

The top four advance to bracket play with semi-finals Saturday the title game will be play Sunday.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers end the regular season with a game at Casper tomorrow then travel to Cheyenne next week for the state "AA" American Legion tournament play begins Wednesday.

With one game to play Head coach Ben Phillips says the Troops still have seeding to play for tomorrow and they will know more after Casper and Gillette play each other tonight.

The Troops lost 8-4 against the Oilers Wednesday and Phillips says they must be better tomorrow in Casper.

ROCKIES - The Colorado Rockies lost to the Miami Marlins 5-3 yesterday.
