IT WAS A GOOD WEEKEND ON THE SHERIDAN COUNTY SPORTS SCENE

SHERIDAN BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs, Tongue River Eagles and Big Horn Rams all won football games. The Broncs led wire to wire in their 46-20 win over Cheyenne East Head coach Don Julian.

Julian says the Broncs played tough in all three phases of their game and did a nice job keeping the T-birds off balance.

Special teams did it again dominating East including Zack Will's second kickoff return for a touchdown.

The Broncs head out on the road Friday traveling to play at Green River.

TONGUE RIVER EAGLES FOOTBALL - The Tongue River Eagles are 1-0 after receiving a forfeit from Hulett. They got a game Friday at the Natrona county sophomores and won 20-13 Head coach Chuck Walters. And he says they really needed to play the game instead of missing the opening week.

And Walters says the Eagles scored about every way you can. The Eagles play their home opener Friday afternoon against Glenrock.

BIG HORN RAMS FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams went over to Greybull Friday and jumped out to a quick lead and won 37-14 the Rams also play their home opener Friday against Burns.

NSI / BUFFALO FOOTBALL - The NSI Wolves lost 72-0 at Rocky Mountain and the Buffalo Bison opened the season shutting out Worland 41-0.

UW - The Wyoming Cowboys beat Southern Utah Saturday night 28-20. The pokes have a big step up in competition this week when they travel to Austin and play Texas.

NFL - The Denver Broncos open the NFL regular season Sunday on the road at Jacksonville.

SHS X-COUNTRY - The Sheridan high school cross country teams ran at an invitational in Gillette . Dylan Morin won the first meet of the season and made it two straight winning in Gillette . As a team the Broncs finished 3rd overall Brendan Byron had a top ten finish in 7th place.

The Lady Broncs finished 3rd as well in Gillette Erin Kinsey led the way finishing 7th overall Lauren Buyan finished 10th.

This week they host the annual Michelle Ludwig Sheridan invitational on the grounds at the Sheridan VA.

HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL - The Lady Bronc volleyball team made it to the semi finals of the Gillette invite before being eliminated by Gillette. The Big Horn Lady rams were knocked out by the Lady Broncs in the quarter finals.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles went 1-2 overall with a win over Buffalo and losses to Wright and Cheyenne Central in the quarter finals.

SC VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan college Lady Generals volleyball team went 4-0 at their own tournament winning matches Saturday over Johnson and Wales and Dawson CC.

LADY BRONC SWIMMING AND DIVING - The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers lost a dual to Laramie 100.5 to 84.5 this week they host a dual with Gillette.
