IT WAS ANOTHER BUSY AND WILD WEEKEND ON THE LOCAL SPORTS SCENE

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs made it three straight wins to start the season overcoming five turnovers to beat Green River 10-7.

Head coach Don Julian says they knew it would be a tough game and it was good to get out of there with the victory. And it was good for the broncs to win and overcome the five turnovers.

The Broncs play their next two at home beginning with Rock Springs Friday night at 7:00.

TR FOOTBALL - The Tongue River Eagles fell short in a 26-20 loss against Glenrock. The Eagles play at Moorcroft Friday.

BIG HORN FOOTBALL - The Big Horn rams fell behind 6-0 against Burns Friday then rattled off 45 straight points to blow out the Broncs. The Rams will play on the road at Wright Friday.

NSI FOOTBALL - Pine Bluffs beat NSI 57-0 Friday this week the Wolves will be on the roads at Upton.

BUFFALO BISON FOOTBALL - The Buffalo Bison are 2-0 after whipping Lander on the road 41-6. This week the Bison return to their home field hosting Powell Friday night.

UW - The Wyoming Cowboys lost 34-7 at Texas Saturday this week the pokes are back at war memorial stadium to host Boise state.

NFL - The Denver Broncos lost at Jacksonville 24-17 yesterday. This week the Broncos will play at home against Seattle. The Seahawks opened the season yesterday with a win over San Francisco.

SHS TENNIS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams played at home. The Lady broncs dominated the Cheyenne schools winning both duals Friday. The Broncs lost both duals against Central and East.

Saturday they hosted duals with Laramie and Riverton, The Lady Broncs dominated again winning both. The Broncs split losing to Laramie and shutting out Riverton 5-0 to win their first dual of the season.

This week the tennis teams host a dual with Casper Kelly Walsh tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 and play on the road this weekend at Powell and Cody.

SHS X-COUNTRY - The Sheridan high school cross country teams hosted the Michelle Ludwig invitational Friday. The Bronc's Dylan Morin remains perfect with his 4th consecutive victory Head coach Art Bauers says Morin put in the time during the off season and it's paying off.

The Broncs finished 3rd over all in the invite and Bauers says it was another solid performance.

The Lady Broncs were fifth and Bauers says the youthful Lady Broncs are getting better every week.

This week the Broncs and Lady Broncs will run at an invitational in Douglas.

SHS VOLLEYBALL - The Lady bronc volleyball team dropped to matches on the road at Laramie and Casper Kelly Walsh. this week they host mare conference action with the Cheyenne schools Friday and Saturday.

BH VOLLEYBALL - The Big Horn volleyball team beat Tongue River and Sundance to run their record to 2-0 in conference play.

SHS SWIMMING AND DIVING - The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers lost a home dual with Gillette Friday 95-68. The Lady Broncs get back into the pool tomorrow afternoon with a dual at Buffalo.

HIGH SCHOOL GOLF - The Tongue River and Big Horn golfers play at Sundance the Rams were 2nd and the Eagles were 6th. In the girls tournament Kaitlyn Bell from Tongue River had a 6th place finish. For the Big Horn boys three made the top ten Matt Mullinax was 4th, Bryce Williams was 7th and Matt Wiggelsworth was 8th.
