BRONC / LADY BRONC GOLF - The Sheridan high school golfers had a windy evening Monday for their first practices of their spring season.

Head coach Larry Martoglio says the weather has been great for the last few weeks and that meant the golf courses opening early and they get off to a better start to their season as well.

The Broncs are the defending state and conference champs and have a regular season tournament winning streak that dates back to 2010 something Martoglio says the Broncs would love to keep going this spring.

And he says the Lady Broncs expect to have a good spring season. Their first spring tournament will be in Gillette Thursday, April 12th.

They will host the Sheridan Invitational May 8th at Kendrick golf course with the spring season culminating with the conference tournament in Casper may 14th and 15th.

Sheridan high school Spring tennis is underway as well practices. Their first matches will be up in Hardin, Montana April, 20th and 21st.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams continue conference play this week with matches against Cheyenne East and Cheyenne Central.

The Lady Broncs are 6-0 and play at home and the Broncs are 5-1 and play in Cheyenne matches Friday are at 4:00 and 6:00 and Saturday at 10:00 and noon.

BRONC / LADY BRONC TRACK AND FIELD - The Sheridan high school track teams will compete at an invitational in Gillette Saturday events begin at 10:00.

Next week is spring break for school district two but the Broncs and Lady Broncs will be at an Invitational meet in Billings on Tuesday.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers had their first workout of their new season last night. The Troops open their season Sunday May 6th hosting a double header with Casper. The Jets opener will also open May 6th with road games in Gillette.

NATIONAL FOOTBALL FOUNDATION AWARDS - Tempe Murphy and Jordan Roberts from Sheridan were recognized for awards at the annual National Football Foundation Wyoming Chapter Banquet.

Murphy was honored with "The greatest high school football fan" award and Sheridan high school Senior Roberts was honored at the state's outstanding running back.

He was awarded a $1200 scholarship from the foundation Roberts will be attending and playing football at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion this fall.

COLORADO ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies open their season with a three game series in Houston April 5th, the home opener at Coors field is Monday, April 9th against San Francisco.
