High School Football begins / Broncos win exhibition opener / Rockies fall at home

BRONC FOOTBALL - The football season begins today for the Sheridan Bronc football team as the coaches and team leaders will start their annual mountain retreat, Head coach Don Julian.

The Broncs coaches, players and their parents will meet tomorrow at 4:00 in the Sheridan high school auditorium.

The first practice is Monday morning at 7:00. The regular season opener is August 29th at home against Laramie.

BIG HORN FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams are holding mini camp this week ahead of two a days which begin on the 18th.

The Rams are coming off a state championship season and Head coach Michael McGuire says the Rams are the team everyone will be coming after this season.

The Rams are returning a good group from that title run and McGuire says the coaches are looking forward to getting them back on the field.

The Rams and Tongue River Eagles play their season openers September 5th, the Rams open with Lovell, the Eagles will open with Rocky Mountain.

COWBOY FOOTBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys open their season at home August 30th against Montana. Cowboy football can be heard all season long on 14-10 KWYO.

BRONCO FOOTBALL - The Denver Broncos beat Seattle 21-16 Thursday night in a game loaded with flags and a lightning delay. The next exhibition game will be on the road at San Francisco next Sunday.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies lost 6-2 against the Cubs Thursday.

They open up a series at Arizona tonight you can hear the game live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio the first pitch will be at 7:40.
