The Tongue River Eagles football team took to the road for the first time this season with a game Friday night in Glenrock. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter was there and has this report.
The Eagles turned the ball over on their first play from scrimmage and several plays later Glenrock scored on a short touchdown run, jumping out to an 8-0 lead. The Herders scored three more touchdowns in the first quarter and were never really challenged by the Eagles, who lost 51-13. Head Coach John Scott says that Glenrock's offense was tough to prepare for.
While the Eagles have certainly taken their lumps the first three games of the season, Coach Scott says that the losses haven't been due to a lack of effort.
The Eagles will look to get their first win of the season at home Friday against Moorcroft, who's also looking for their first win of the year.
