SHERIDAN HIGH SCHOOL - Sheridan high school will be out this week for the summer and as athletes get ready for the off season we sat down with Sheridan high school football coach and Activities Director Don Julian to talk about this past school year.

It was a busy spring in 2011 with Sheridan hosting regional track and field and state soccer on back to back weekends.

Over all the sports year started and ended with a Bronc state championship.

The Bronc golfers took the 4-A state title last September and the Bronc soccer team ended the year winning the program's first ever state title two weeks
ago.

A new national study came out this week noting that high school students involved in activities and sports on average are better students in and out of the class room and Julian says that's how it at Sheridan high school.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers take a 7-2 record into a home double header with Douglas tomorrow night, the first game will start at 6:00 then they head to Rapid city for two on Sunday.

Admission is free and they will be giving out some door prizes at the games as well.

HOOP JAM 2011 - This weekend the 3 on 3 Sheridan Hoop Jam basketball tournament will take place in Whitney Plaza games begin early both Saturday and Sunday morning.

SHERIDAN MEDIA BENEFIT GOLF - The Sheridan Media benefit golf tournament will be played at Kendrick golf course Friday June 10th. Shot gun will be at 1:00.

Proceeds from the tournament this year is going to help purchase the statue "Raptoround" that is located on Main street near the Coffeen intersection. "Raptoround" was dedicated on Memorial day for American armed service veterans.

The cost for golfers is 60 dollars per player which includes the golf, cart and dinner following the tournament.

There is an opportunity to become a hole or tournament sponsor hole sponsors are $250.00 and tournament sponsors are $100.00 to become a sponsor please contact tournament Chairman Kim Love at Sheridan Media at 672-7421.
