STATE TENNIS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams opened play yesterday at the State Tennis Tournament. All players are still alive as Day 2 gets underway. The Lady Broncs sit tied for 1st place with Jackson. After the first day, Emily Holst and Maria Dernalova both advanced to the semi-finals in the Singles. In Doubles play, all three Doubles teams also advanced into today's semi-finals.

The Broncs sit in 11th place; none of the Broncs made it into the semi-finals, but they all won matches yesterday and are all still playing in the Consolation Bracket today. The State Championships will conclude tomorrow.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team plays tonight at home as the #1-ranked team in Class 4-A against Laramie. The Plainsmen are 2-3 overall; the Broncs have won four straight. We will broadcast the game live tonight on AM 1410 KWYO -- the First Federal Pre-game Show will start at 6:30 with kick-off at 7 o'clock.

RAMS FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams play at Thermopolis tonight. Kick-off is set for 7 o'clock. That game can also be seen online tonight live by going to rtcom.tv.

TR SPORTS - The Tongue River Lady Eagles' volleyball team is on the road for a tournament in the Big Horn Basin, while the Eagles' football team will play at home this afternoon against Wright. You can hear it live on AM 1410 KWYO; the First Federal Pre-game Show will start at 1:45 with Ron Richter bringing you the play-by-play 2 pm.

LADY BRONC VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan Lady Bronc volleyball team hosts the Border War Volleyball event tomorrow. The Lady Broncs will play four matches tomorrow against three Billings schools -- West, Senior and Skyview; Bozeman, Montana will also be here to play. The Montana teams will also play matches with Gillette and both Casper schools

They will use four gyms tomorrow the Lady Broncs and Gillette will play at Sheridan High School, and the Casper schools will be at Sheridan Junior High. Match times are at 11 and 12:30 then again at 3 and 3:30.

LADY RAMS VOLLEYBALL - The Big Horn Lady Rams will play in Thermopolis today and at home tomorrow with Sundance. The Varsity match is scheduled for 3 o'clock.

CROSS-COUNTRY - The Sheridan Bronc and Lady Bronc cross-country teams run at the Billings Invitational tomorrow.

LOCAL GOLF TOURNAMENTS - The last two local golf tournaments of the season will be played this weekend. Tomorrow Kendrick Golf Course has the season-ending scramble. It's a blind draw, 4-person team scramble; tee time is at 10 am. Call the Pro Shop to sign up 674-8148.

The Powder Horn will host the Octoberfest Golf Tournament. Sunday shotgun start will be at 9 am. It's a 2-person team event, and all 27 holes will be played. To sign up, call the Powder Horn Golf Shop at 672-5323.

ROCKIES CLINCH!! - The Colorado Rockies clinched a play-off spot after beating Milwaukee 9-2 yesterday. The Rockies now open a 3-game season-ending series in Los Angeles for the Western Division title. The Rockies trail the Dodgers by two games, with three left to play.

UW - The Wyoming Cowboys football team plays at Florida Atlantic tomorrow. You can hear the game live on AM 1410 KWYO. Cowboy Pre-game starts at 1, with kickoff at 2 o'clock.

NFL - Sunday the Denver Broncos host the Dallas Cowboys. The game will also be broadcast on KWYO; Bronco pre-game starts the broadcast at 1 o'clock.
