SC Rodeo coach Marc Gilkerson

The weather was much better in Lamar, CO this weekend. The men’s team placed 2nd with 570 points, Casper’s men won the rodeo with 615 points.

The men’s team had 5 saddle bronc riders make it to the short round, 1 bareback rider, 1 bullrider, 1 tie down roper and 2 team ropers.

The men’s team moved back into 3rd position in the region after this weekend, they are only 330 points out of second and 420 points out of first.


STATE TENNIS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams started the state tournament yesterday in Gillette. in the team race the Broncs are in 4th place the Lady Broncs are 6th.

Defending state champions in number one singles Reed Ritterbusch and Julia Fenn made it to the semi finals also for the Broncs Adam Berry made the semi's in number two singles, semi final matches will be played today with the finals tomorrow.

Lady Bison Swimmers Take Home Meet

Buffalo High School's Lady Bison swimming/diving team hosted their invitational meet Saturday and won the meet with 154 points, followed by Douglas with 80.5 points and finally Newcastle with 64.5 points.

Big Horn Clobbers Glenrock on the Road

After being postponed a couple of times, the Big Horn Rams football team finally got a chance to hit the gridiron against the Glenrock Herders Monday night. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter was in Glenrock for the game, and has this report.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Broncs played at Gillette Saturday after weather delayed most of last week's sporting events around the state.

The Broncs scored on their first play from scrimmage, they took a 10-6 lead at the end of the first quarter but those were the only points they would get as Gillette took a 19-10 lead at halftime.

They shut the Broncs out in the second half and won 39-10.

Broncs Head coach Don Julian says they ran into a very good team Saturday.

Weather Affects Weekend High School Sports In Jo Co

The first big weather event of the school year began last Thursday and affected weekend sports all over the state, including in Johnson County.

The Bison's home football game with Riverton, scheduled for Friday night, was postponed until Saturday, originally for a 1 o'clock kickoff.

Weather Hampers Inaugural Games at Maier Field

Last week's storm put a temporary damper on the first home games for the Sheridan College soccer teams. The soccer teams will play a makeup double-header against Western Nebraska today at Sheridan High School, with the men playing at noon and the women scheduled for 2 pm. A special event recognizing Dr. Steve Maier, who was instrumental in making the Generals Soccer program a reality, will be held Wednesday at Maier Field at Sheridan College.
