Sheridan Bronc Football Team Open Season With Convincing Win

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL-The Sheridan Bronc Football team opened their season on the road Friday night in Casper with a 35-0 win over Kelly Walsh. Sheridan Media Sports Trevor Jackson has a recap of the game.

GOLF- The Sheridan Bronc High School Golf team started the season off on the right foot as they won the Sheridan Invitational handily Friday. The Broncs won the tournament by 53 strokes and Kamrin Allen was the individual winner of the two day tournament with a 9-under-par, 135.

SHERIDAN BRONC FOOTBALL - The Bronc football team plays at Casper Kelly Walsh tonight.

The Broncs enter the 2010 season with plenty of questions that will get answered tonight.

The Broncs have a good mix of returning players should get them going tonight Head coach Don Julian wants to see how this year's Broncs handle the pressure the firs game.

The Broncs have a few guys back as starters this year but most will be in a starting role for the first time, Julian says the Broncs will have the same look on the field but with some subtle changes.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Bronc football team plays the season opener at Casper Kelly Walsh as we begin season long live coverage of the Broncs tomorrow night.

The broncs have been in the weight room all summer and in practice for the last three weeks and Head coach Don Julian says the team is ready to finally get a chance to play.

SHERIDAN RUNNERS MEMORIALIZE FALLEN FRIEND

Tony Garber Competes in the Leadville Trail 100

On August 20 and 21 Tony Garber from Sheridan ran the Leadville Trail 100. He ran the race in honor of David Westlake who was struck and killed by lightning in the Big Horn mountains in July.

Westlake was already entered to compete in Leadville this year and was on a training run when the tragedy occurred.

Wendell Robison approached Garber about running the Colorado race at David's memorial and made arrangments to have both entered.

Garber was honored to carry David's assigned race bib #847, throughout the race, ultimately carrying it across the finish line.

THE BRONC GOLFERS WIN THEIR SECOND STRAIGHT TOURNAMENT

HIGH SCHOOL GOLF - The Sheridan Bronc golfers held off Cheyenne Central to win the Douglas invitational yesterday the Broncs took the team title by 12 shots. Overall six broncs placed in the top ten Kamrin Allen led the way finishing 2nd, Cameron Lindell was 3rd, Toby Nicholas was 4th, Taylor Reed was 5th, Jace Rader 7th and Taylor Spiegelberg was 10th.

Sheridan high school will host the next tournament which tees off tomorrow at Kendrick golf course and will conclude Friday.

The Big Horn and Tongue River golfers hosted their own event yesterday at Kendrick golf course.

THE BRONC GOLFERS STAY ON A ROLL AT THE DOUGLAS INVITE

SHERIDAN HIGH SCHOOL GOLF - The Bronc golfers took their first tournament of the season last week in Riverton and yesterday they stayed hot taking the lead after the first day of a tournament in Douglas.

Eight Broncs sit in the top ten led by Kamrin Allen in second place, Cole smith and Taylor Reed are tied for 3rd, Cameron Lindell, Toby Nicholas and Taylor Speigleberg are tied for 4th and Chris Cremer and Jace Rader are tied in 5th place.

Following play today the Broncs and Lady Broncs will host an invitational Thursday and Friday and Kendrick golf course.

Broncs win the Riverton Invitational

SHERIDAN HIGH SCHOOL GOLF - The Sheridan Bronc golfers blew the field away to win the Riverton invitational by 54 shots Evanston was 2nd . Cameron Lindell took the overall individual title with teammate Kamrin Allen finishing 2nd.

They have a lot of golf to play this week they begin today at a two day tournament Douglas. Thursday and Friday they host the Sheridan high school invitational at Kendrick golf course.

RAMS AND EAGLES GOLF – The Big Horn and Tongue River golfers started their fall season in Kemmerer the Rams finished 4th and the Eagles were 7th.

Rockies Lose In Extra Innings

ROCKIES- Kelly Johnson doubled in Justin Upton from first base with one out in the 10th inning and the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied to beat the Colorado Rockies 4-3 on Friday night. Trailing 3-1 in the ninth inning, the Diamondbacks rallied for two runs to force extra innings. Johnson singled and Chris Young walked. Colorado closer Huston Street struck out the next two batters and then had Miguel Montero at a 1-2 count before he doubled to right to tie the game.
