Bison, Buckaroo Weekend Preview For August 24

The Bison golf team was in Gillette Monday and Tuesday and the boys team finished 7th of 10 teams, while the girls finished fifth of nine teams. The top finisher for the boys was Lee Hartley who finished 8th with a 162 for the tournament. The top finisher for the girls was Sydney Gruntmeier, 14th, who shot 210 for the tournament.
Next up is a tournament in Rawlins today and Friday.

The Big Horn Rams will host a Zero week scrimmage with Thermopolis Friday afternoon at 1:00

There were two tournament finals played on Sunday August 12, at the BHEC - 1:00 The C&K Equipment Cup; and at 3:00 the Montaylor Cup.

In the C&K Equipment Cup, Richard Williams & Associates defeated Hammer Chevrolet, 9-7.

MVP, sponsored as always by Kiwi Katering, was Rob Beckman of Richard
Williams & Associates.

BRONC GOLF RESULTS / 2012 FOOTBALL OPENER IN TWO DAYS

SHERIDAN BRONC GOLF - The Gillette golf invitational wrapped up Tuesday at Bell Knob golf course.

The Sheridan Broncs finished 6th in the team race and Jack Mavrakis was the lone Bronc player in the top ten he tied for 9th place carding a two day total of 164.

The Sheridan varsity golfers are off until next week when they play at two tournaments in Powell and Cody.

The Tongue River, Big Horn and Sheridan JV's will play in a one day tournament tomorrow at Kendrick golf course.

Buffalo, Kaycee Football Ranked In Wyopreps Preseason Top 5

Both the Buffalo Bison and Kaycee Buckaroos are ranked in the preseason Wyopreps.com Top 5 that came out last week.

In Class 3A, Buffalo is ranked at the #4 spot, behind top-ranked Powell, second-ranked Douglas and third-ranked Green River. Star Valley rounds out the top five.

2011 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SEASON BEGINS FRIDAY

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team will play Cheyenne Central in the capitol city Friday night to open their season while Big Horn and Tongue River wait another week.

The Rams start their new season with a new coaching staff as Micheal McGuire takes over the Rams program.

McGuire has been pleased with what he's seen from the Rams the last week and says their job is making sure the players stay focused for one more week before they play a real opponent.

The Rams face Greybull on the road a week from Friday.

Johnson County High School Teams In Action This Week

Buffalo and Kaycee High School sports teams will be in action this week and others will begin their seasons next week.

The BHS Golf team played at the Wheatland Invite last week and took both the boys and girls titles. They played at Gillette yesterday and will be there again today and will play at Rawlins Thursday and Friday.

The Lady Bison Swimmers will open competition by hosting their Buffalo Pentathlon this Friday at the Johnson County Family YMCA. They will then travel to Lander on Saturday.

Sheridan Golf Course Record Broken

Cameron Lindell, age 20, had a record-breaking weekend at Kendrick Golf Course. Lindell finished the course with a score of 64,62, which is a total score of 18 under par. That's the best score ever achieved on the course. He said he started strong.

Lindell's streak of luck continued Sunday.

Lindell is a returning sophomore at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas.
