"GARY BENSON" TRACK MEET MOVED TO THURSDAY

The 2nd annual "Gary Benson" memorial track meet scheduled for Tuesday at Sheridan high school has been moved and will take place Thursday because of expected poor weather conditions.

Seven teams will be competing,joining the Broncs and Lady Broncs will be Casper Kelly Walsh, Natrona county, Gillette and all three big schools from Billings, West, Senior and Skyview. Events are scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.

Sheridan high school will also host the annual "Dan Hansen" invitational on Saturday events begin at 10:00 am.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER SPLITS WITH GILLETTE.

It was a pair of 1-0 games at Sheridan high school Friday night as the Broncs and Lady broncs hosted matches with Gillette.

Robbie Ryan scored the only goal of the girls match in the second half as the Lady Broncs beat the Camels 1-0 and in the boys match Gillette got an early first half goal and it stood up for their 1-0 win over the Broncs.

The second round of conference play begins next week for the Sheridan teams with matches against Laramie and Cheyenne South.

2013 WYOMING BASKETBALL ALL-STAR ROSTERS ANNOUNCED

BOYS

Marshall McArthur is a 6’4, 160 pound guard from Powell, Wyoming. Marshall played for Coach Mike Henry at Powell High School. Marshall is a three time All-Conference selection, 2011-2013, and was named All-State in 2013 while averging 15.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. Scoring 993 points in his career, Marshall is the 3rd all-time leading scorer at Powell High School. Marshall also participated in track & tennis while attending Powell High School. Marshall boasted a 4.0 GPA and plans on attending college to study Pharmacy or Dentistry.

SRD 2013 ADULT SOFTBALL

It’s that time of the year again for softball fun. Summer Softball leagues are offered in Men’s and Co-Recreation Divisions.

Registrations are from April 15th-May17th.

Registrations can now be signed-up online at www.sheridanrecreation.com or still sign up in person at 1579 Thorne Rider Park. The Manager’s Meeting will be held on Wednesday April 24th at 6 PM at The Sheridan Junior High School Old Gym.

BENIFIT AUCTION SUCCESS / LADY BRONC HOOPS NEEDS NEW COACHES

ON-LINE BENEFIT AUCTION - The "Weston Johnson" on-line benefit auction finished up Wednesday night and over ten-thousand dollars was raised to support Johnson in his battle with cancer.

Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian says they are very thankful for the donations to the auction and all who participated in the bidding.

LADY BRONC HOOPS - The Lady Bronc basketball program will have a whole new coaching staff going into next season.

SHS COLLEGE SIGNINGS - A Sheridan Bronc track and cross country stand-out signed to compete at the University of Wyoming Wednesday and today a Bronc football player will make it official on where he intends to play college football.

Sheridan high school senior distance runner Micheal Rottelini made it official Wedensday afternoon and signed a national letter of intent to run for the University of Wyoming this fall.

TRACK / FIELD - The Sheridan high school track teams will compete at the Billings invitational scheduled for Saturday.

SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams host matches with Gillette Friday the boys varsity match will open the at 4:00 with the girls to go at 6:00.

GOLF - The Sheridan high school golfers are scheduled to host their spring invitational Friday at Kendrick golf course play begins at 11:00.

COWGIRL BASKETBALL - Fallon Lewis will be a senior this coming season for the Wyoming Cowgirls basketball team.

GENERALS ADD PLAYER TO 2013-14 SQUAD

(Milwaukee, WI) – The Sheridan College Generals picked up their first commitment for the 2013-2014 season from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Riverside stand-out RaVonn Posey. The 6’8, 290 lb senior averaged 9.6 points per game, including a 28 point season best, while shooting 58% from the floor, and pulled down 9 rebounds a game.

Posey has most recently been honored being named Milwaukee City All-Conference 2nd team for his efforts this season on the floor.
