Area Kids Selected To Wyoming 6-Man Football All-Star Team

Wyoming and Nebraska will play a 6-Man All Star Football game later this Spring with athletes representing their home states.
The game is scheduled for June 30 in Arthur, Nebraska.

A number of area athletes were selected to the Wyoming All-Star Team, and Wyopreps.com released the list Wednesday afternoon.

TROOPER BASEBALL - We have more to day from Sheridan Trooper baseball spring training as we mentioned Wednesday the regular season begins May 6th with the Troops hosting a double header with Casper.

They have six weeks to get ready for their first games they Head coach Ben Phillips returns the bulk of last year's team including a strong pitching staff.

Offense shouldn't be a problem for the troops this season as Phillips says they didn't have trouble scoring runs last year but had trouble stopping other teams from scoring more.

TROOPERS LOOKING FOR A BIG 2012

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are two days into their spring training the regular season begins May 6th with the Troopers hosting a double header with Casper.

Head coach Ben Phillips says they have six weeks to get ready for their first games.

He says it will take all that time to make sure arms will be ready to start the grind of the regular season.

Results From Last Week's Jerry Campbell Invite

Both Buffalo and Kaycee High School's track teams performed well at last week's Jerry Campbell Invite, hosted by BHS.

For Buffalo, winners included the boys 4x400 relay team; Hannah Chapin in the girls' 1,600 meter run and the 3,200 meter run; Matt Scarlett in the boys' 3,200 meter run; Dylan Marton in the boys' pole vault; and Shannon Horn in the girls' long jump.

Winners for Kaycee included Hannah Foley in the girls' 100-meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles.

Both Buffalo and Kaycee athletes finished second in numerous events and had many in the top five.

HIGH SCHOOL GOLFERS TEE IT UP

SENIOR KAMRIN ALLEN LEADS THE BRONCS INTO THE SPRING

BRONC / LADY BRONC GOLF - The Sheridan high school golfers had a windy evening Monday for their first practices of their spring season.

Head coach Larry Martoglio says the weather has been great for the last few weeks and that meant the golf courses opening early and they get off to a better start to their season as well.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER WEEKEND RESULTS

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Lady Bronc soccer team took two matches over the weekend running their record to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

They beat Cheyenne South 11-0 Friday and came back and beat Laramie 2-1 Saturday.

The Broncs split their games they are 5-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

They beat up South Friday 9-0 and had a rough outing Saturday losing to Laramie 2-0. Head coach Kevin Riser says it just wasn't their day Saturday.

Johnson County High School Weekend Sports Wrap

Johnson County's high school sports teams were busy this weekend with four soccer matches and a track and field meet.

Friday Buffalo High School hosted the Jerry Campbell Invitational Track and Field Meet, with a number of area teams competing, including Kaycee and Tongue River.

No results from the meet were available as of this morning, abut we will post them when they are released.

The Bison soccer team hosted Powell at Bison Stadium on Friday, downing the Panthers 2-0.

Saturday the boys traveled to Cody and took care of the Broncs 3-1.
