WEEKEND LOCAL SPORTS WRAP-UP

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams split their conference openers with Gillette last Thursday both teams were off over the weekend.

The Broncs beat Gillette 1-0 the Lady Broncs lost 3-0 tomorrow they resume the schedule with games in Buffalo.

The schedule remains tough for the Lady Broncs as they play two really good teams this week starting with the match in Buffalo Head coach Tom Racette.

The Lady Broncs are 3-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

WYOMING SPORTS HOF CLASS OF 2011

Some of the state’s most recognized names in sports ranging from football to softball, and the memory and recognition of a collegiate cross country team are among newest class of inductees into the Wyoming Sports Hall of Fame.

Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss, longtime girls softball coach Ray Sanchez, the sibling trio of Corte, Ryan and Megan McGuffey are part of the class. So are the eight members of the University of Wyoming cross country team who died in an automobile accident in 2001, along with coach Jim Sanchez and the student-athletes who finished the season.

SHERIDAN MARTIAL ARTS

There were 21 junior teams competing in Denver last Saturday (March 26th) at the Maestas Team Challenge Taekwon-Do Tournament.

Sheridan Taekwon-Do Club sent two teams. Each 5-member team competed in Team Patterns, then each competitor individually in power breaking and in sparring, within their age/rank divisions.

Total points were accumulated to achieve a team score.

Adults competed in individual Patterns, Breaking, and Sparring.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER SPLIT CONFERENCE OPENERS

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Broncs and Lady Broncs opened conference play last night with matches against the Gillette Camels.

The Lady Broncs fell behind the number one ranked Camels 1-0 in the first half as they tried to battle back in the second half but Gillette would score two more goals and win the game 3-0.

Lady Broncs Head coach Tom Racette says it was a tough night against a good team.

Even though it was their first loss of the season they are playing for more than just winning the conference opener.

Bison Soccer Looking at Busy Weekend

The Buffalo Bison Soccer Teams will both have busy weekends with two games each on the slate.
The boys and girls will each host Rawlins on Friday, with the girls' game scheduled at 3pm and the boys' game scheduled at 5.
On Saturday the girls will stay home to host Cheyenne South, with the games set to begin at noon and 2pm.
The boys will travel to South on Saturday and play at noon and 2pm as well.
The Bison boys now stand at 3-1 on the season and are ranked #1 in 3A Soccer.
The Bison girls are 3-0 so far this season and they also are ranked #1 in 3A.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER IN ACTION TONIGHT

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Broncs and Lady Broncs open conference play tonight with matches against Gillette these are their only matches of the week.

The broncs will play in Gillette the Lady Broncs host the Camels the JV's will open the action at 4:00 with the varsity set to go at 6:00.

The Lady Broncs are 3-0 the Broncs are 4-1 in non-conference play Broncs Head coach Kevin Riser says they are off to a good start and expect to get much better in the coming weeks.

The Little Lady Bronc Blue 5th grade team won their age group at the Hoop It Up Tournament, Billings, MT, March 26-27.

The Championship Game was played against The Sheridan Bucket Dumpers final score 22-17
