State 2-A / 4-A East regional hoops open Thursday / Cowgirls fall at San Jose state / Pokes host Spartans tonight

2-A STATE BASKETBALL BIG HORN / TONGUE RIVER - The Big Horn Rams and Tongue River Eagles open to the basketball state championships tomorrow in Casper, the Rams will play Wyoming Indian the Eagles will take on Wind River.

Both games will be played at Casper college, the Rams play at noon the Eagles follow at 1:30 both games can be hear live on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM..

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams start their post season tomorrow at the 4-A East regional tournament in Cheyenne.

BRONC SWIMMING - The Bronc swimmers swimmers had a tremendous performance at their state meet with an impressive 4th place finish Head coach Brent Moore says the Broncs set the tone early in the meet setting school records on the way to the finals.

And with only eight state meet qualifiers more says finishing top four as a team was good as they could even dream of doing and he says they all should be proud of their effort.

STATE WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers finished 4th at the state championships Saturday in Casper, they had one state champion as Hayden Hastings capped off his season with a state title at 160 pounds.

STATE SWIMMING - The Bronc swimmers had a tremendous weekend at their state meet with an impressive 4th place finish, congratulations goes out to the Broncs Presley Felker who was the state champ in the 100 Butterfly.

2-A East regional tournament, the Big Horn girls were eliminated Friday losing against Burns 57-56.

The Rams play Pine Bluffs today in the regional final depending on the outcome they will have either a one or two seed for next week's state tournament in Casper.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles were eliminated from the regional tournament this morning by Burns and The Eagles play Wright.

Sheridan Broncs vs. Gillette Basketball

The Broncs fall short to the Camels in overtime with a final score 72-66.

The Lady Broncs fall to Gillette with a final score of 63-51.

REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL HOOPS - Day one of 1-A / 2-A regional basketball tournament play is in the books at the 2-A East in Cheyenne the Tongue River Eagles and Lady Eagles split opening round games, the Lady Eagles advanced into the semi finals with a 39-34 win over Lusk they play Southeast today at 4:00.

The Eagles dropped their opener against Southeast 64-53 they play a loser out game today against Sundance.

The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams also split in the first round, the Lady Rams fell 67-63 against Pine Bluffs they play a loser out game today with Burns.

STATE WRESTLING - The Sheridan Bronc wrestlers open the state wrestling championships in Casper, matches begin tomorrow morning at 9:00 at the Casper events center.

Broncs Head coach Tyson Shatto says a lot of the preparation this week has been getting the Broncs into the right frame of mind to be ready for the excitement and anticipation of the state championships.

And he says the Broncs have responded well all week to the prep work.

1-A / 2-A EAST REGIONAL BASKETBALL - The 2-A East regional basketball tournament opens tomorrow in Cheyenne the Tongue River Lady Eagles play Lusk at 9:00 AM the Eagles play at 10:30 against Southeast.

The Big Horn Lady Rams will open the tournament in the late game with Pine Bluffs at 7 pm. The Rams will take on Burns in their opener at 5:30.

The Arvada / Clearmont Panthers open the 1-A East regional at Sheridan high school tomorrow against number one seed Lingle at 6 pm.

The Lady Panthers will open tomorrow night at 6:00 against Rock River.
