FORMER SHERIDAN RESIDENT TALKS ABOUT HIS TIME AS A PBR TRANSLATOR

THE PBR HAS A LOCAL FLAVOR - Former Sheridan resident Tab Barker who now resides in Austin, Texas made a visit to Sheridan Media Monday.

Known more for his ongoing "Project School House" program in the last several months some may have seen him on the national television broadcasts of the Professional Bull Riders tour not as a contestant but as a translator for several Brazilian riders.

The problem the PBR had was interviews with the Non-English speaking riders and Barker fit the bill knowing their native language Portuguese.

Barker had been doing some other work for the PBR says he was in the right place at the right time and the toughest thing for him was getting used to the TV cameras.

And he says he's learned a lot since starting last
fall. The interviews and translating work well for the TV viewers but it's also worked out well for the performers.

Barker's next assignment will be the next PBR TV event in Madison Square Garden in New York City.
